Since its opening 19 years ago the rooftop at the Banyan Tree Bangkok has not only remained in the Top 10 best rooftops to visit before you die but has consistently remained in the top 5 of that list.

Sooo even the experts can occasionally make mistakes.

We booked the 1st place cos we really wanted a beachfront place. By 03:00 the morning of the 1st night we were booking a new resort just down the road. No lock on the door so no sleep. Understandably ladies tend to want to feel safe while they sleep so while Sam struggled to sleep I stood guard throughout the night until daylight came then I got 2 hrs myself b4 we got the hell out of Dodge!

Welllll that was an "interesting" fast boat from Railey Beach to Ao Bang in the rain.

Chiang Mai done. Now sat in the lounge at CNX waiting to fly to KBI - yes of course we picked the airline that gives you a lounge even if flying economy 😀

A BIG thank you to the check-in team who also gave us priority status. Have to say after two flights with Bangkok Airways we are thoroughly impressed with how efficient, friendly and professional the staff are from GHA's through to the CC they have all been brilliant so far.

Sooo many uploads and posts to make ( sorry it's been a hectic week flying and off seeing stuff) but this morning's views of our hotel are so good we had to let them jump the queue.

I present to you our first hotel in Thailand. The ultra exclusive 32 room Pingdoi Hualin Boutique Hotel
The staff have been amazing since we arrived at midnight last night helping us with replacement international plugs offering advice and the likes. The images well they speak for themselves

No flying for the month of June makes me slightly sad however we have dedicated the month as month. Last weekend we went to see Fleetwood Mac and this weekend we're off to see both Jon Bon Jovi and Eagles at Wembley showing what a dynamic and full music calender has throughout the summer and why it remains a destination city for so many around the world.

Looking forward to meeting up with some old friends at the fan park events prior to both of this weekends events

As frequent flyers it's not often we go all gooey about a plane tbh. However as we walked down to the gate I spotted a VERY special livery on an aircraft. Even better we are now sat on one of British Airways in the BEA paint scheme and I'm in full need mode 😍🥰😍🥰😍

Silver In Six: Who we are and what we’re about

Silver In Six

Two ordinary middle aged people( and a world famous rubber duck - fb: @Sec Duck) whose passion in life is travelling the world, experiencing new cultures, meeting new people & making new friends.

We aren’t models ( far from it!), we have no trust fund, rich family, or corporate sponsor to help us. We’re just ‘average joes’ on well below £100k pa between us who take most of us our income and use it to travel the world in the most luxurious way we can and experience new things as much as our limited budget allows us to. One thing we’ve learnt is that taking the time to research is the key. We have a philosophy of #TravelSmart. It’s all about learning what you can get back from the airlines, from the hotel companies and those who you spend your hard earned money with. If you are going to give a company money then why not get something back in return.

We all have different tastes but in this modern digital world there is invariably a way to make sure any brand you like recognises your loyalty & has a way to reward you for it( if they don’t then are they really worth all your cash?). Come on our own journey and be a part of it. Take some inspiration and find the ways to make it cheaper and/or more rewarding for you.
