Coldvan ltd is looking for a casual driver for the next 8 weeks or so. Driving clean up to date large refrigerated vans. You need to be over 30 (for insurance), local to Brighton (our work is often very short notice) and physically fit (journeys can be long and sometimes involve lifting, but mostly on pallets). No multi drop work whatsoever.

Jobs can be day or evening, local or far afield (you choose what you want to do)
Flexibility us very important and you must be 100% reliable as our customers rely on us.

You need to be presentable and friendly with excellent spoken English.

The rate of pay is much higher than the norm for this industry and is paid into a bank account within seven days.

I have casual fantastic casual drivers already but am having to turn down work every day. I need someone as hungry for work as I am!!!

This morning finds Mr ColdVan in The Ramada Hotel in Newport Pagnall. Yesterday we ran a van load of chilled fresh fruit juice for a very local company local and delivered to Deli24 in Milton Keynes.

Deli24 do not use heat to extend shelf life, but a pressure process which does not seem to affect taste. I found the process interesting, see https://deli24.co.uk/high-pressure-processing-technology/. I am not associated with this company in any way.

We will be collecting at 12.00 to run the processed juices back down to sunny Brighton. Mission accomplished!

Why bigger is not always better… or the advantages of using a smaller transport company.

I’d like to tell you of three real situations we found ourselves in this week:

1) Hannah, a chain restaurant manager in Portsmouth, called us in Brighton having been recommended by another local restaurant.
She was looking for a super urgent transfer of food with collections from three other premises.
She had spent all morning failing to get through, being put on hold and being told there was no one available that day.

We answer the phone. Any time. We try to keep an emergency transport van available at all times. We were on our way with 30 mins AND it turns out were less expensive!

2) We delivered frozen elderberries for the lovely folk at Silverhill Farm. The owners came too in their vehicle.
When we got there, the newly installed freezer was nowhere near the required temperature.
We were asked if we could stay for 3 hours to maintain the freeze in the van until an engineer arrived. Our answer was of course!
We offer flexibility, a genuine understanding and sympathy for your situation, and drivers that are willing to help save a crop.

3) We delivered to Chelsea FC and then Harrods for a local pie company. They asked us to collect ingredients on the way back.
The driver happened to hear that pastry in particular was urgently needed.
The goods were loaded at the supplier and paperwork handed over to the driver. He noticed that there seemed to be no pastry on the invoice.
He contacted our customer direct, and as a result uncovered a problem with the order. He was asked if he could wait two hours while the issue was sorted. The answer was Of course!
We have resourceful, thinking drivers who give a damn about what they are doing and care about our customers.

Of course we cannot always stay for hours to sort an issue, but we ARE willing, and will always genuinely do our very best for our customers and their businesses.

Beautiful day... beautiful place. A vineyard near Billingshurst.

Very happy to be delivering Elderberry drinks from the Silverhill Farm in Kent. We move their fresh Elderflowers in the spring, Fresh Elderberries in the Autumn, and this week frozen berries for drying. And they also produce their own on cordials and drinks. Talented people!

ColdVan Ltd need two extra casual drivers to drive our 3.5 ton Fridge Vans. You MUST live within 20 mins of BN42 postcode as jobs are often short notice.

Job times are totally unpredictable and start and finish could be any time day or night. YOU will be free to choose whatever jobs you want to do.
Would be IDEAL for a retired person, usually no lifting involved.

The work is pretty much full time at this time of year, You decide how many hours you want to work.

You must be aged over 25 with a clean license for insurance purposes. We would like to be a more diverse company so welcome applications from all.
The work is all moving food, so there are no crazy number multi drops.

We try and keep our vehicles as clean and tidy as possible, we expect our drivers to be presentable too.
The work is very varied and will involve prestige venues and customers. For this reason you need excellent English skills.

Pay rates are well above average, initially on a self employed contractor basis, payable within 7 days.

A week ago we completed our most technically complex delivery to date, for an Internet search engine company.

Six vans and drivers were co-ordinated to deliver within a 8 hour slot all around the country, from Bournemouth in the South, to Central London, and as far as Chester and Leeds in the North.

All planned using the most up to date multi vehicle routing software. ALL delivered on time, on temperature, to the correct address.

We achieved 100% client satisfaction. It's what we aim for.

On the 25th September, we were proud to take two vans to the magnificent Blenheim Palace which was holding an exclusive (socially distanced) car event, Salon Privee.

We delivered hundreds of chilled hampers in perfect condition. An unbelievable setting in which to work...

On time, at the right temperature, with a smile!
