Trailnet CIC We are based in attractive woodland which promotes wellbeing. We are open 10-4 Weekends and school holidays and other days by prior appointment

Trailnet are an Essex and East London based community interest company dedicated to promoting outdoor activity in the form of cycling for all ages and abilities. We offer bike hire (including tagalongs and buggies for children), led health rides, cycling lessons for children and adults, inclusive trikes for adults and children both for hire and for led ride sessions, bike maintenance tuition, school sessions, private sessions, birthday parties, corporate days, in fact anything you wish for!

One of the most rewarding moments from our first Thorndon Activity Day happened after the event had finished:

Teddy joined us on Sunday and took part alongside more than 100 children and adults who enjoyed cycling, geocaching, orienteering, forest skills, nature walks and live music throughout the day.

When Teddy got home, he was so inspired that he asked for his stabilisers to be removed!

We're delighted to see the confidence and enthusiasm he's gained, and we wish him every success on his cycling journey.

Thank you to Teddy's family for sharing this wonderful video with us, and thank you to everyone who helped make our first Thorndon Activity Day such a success.

What a fantastic first Thorndon Activity Day!

More than 100 children and adults joined us to try cycle skills, explore the woods through geocaching & orienteering, learn woodland skills, enjoy a guided nature walk, and relax with live music from three local bands.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success.

Sunday 31st May @ Thorndon Country Park North - from 10:00am to 3:00pm

All ages are welcome to try participate in exciting activities in Thorndon Country Park.

Featuring Live Music throughout.

Activities Include:
• Cycle skills - tackle our exciting obstacle course under the guidance of our expert instructors
• Woodland School - Learn woodland skills like campfire, den building, hammocks from ECC Parks Education rangers
• Orienteering – local club (HAVOC) will be providing coaching and taster sessions where you use a map and compass to find marked locations on an orienteering course in the forest.
• Geocaching - High-tech treasure hunt using handheld GPS units to find hidden caches in the forest
• Nature Walk - join our expert guide for a short walk highlighting the natural wonders of Thorndon Country Park
• Inclusive Bike Demo - opportunity to try adult and child adapted bikes/trikes for those with balance and coordination issues

6 spaces left for our holiday Bikeklubz on Friday 29th May in Thorndon Country Park🌲

These school holiday sessions are designed to help children aged 8 to 15 build confidence, improve their riding skills and most importantly have fun together.

Including: mountain bike obstacle courses, bicycle limbo, ramps, see-saws, games and a scenic ride through the park.

🗓️ 2026's Dates - taking place from 10:30am to 2:30 pm:

Thursday 6th August (advanced)

Friday 30th October

No bicycle required to participate as we have a full range of sizes available.

Brentwood-based community interest company, Trailnet CIC, are planning to expand their award-winning ReSpoke project and need to recruit more volunteers to increase their throughput of refurbished bikes. They have a regular supply of donated bikes, so need to be able to return these to a roadworthy condition and make them available to local residents, whilst reducing the number that end up in landfill.
