We take both groups and individuals from April - October each year. Charity YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YeiM5rmYT8 Blackwell Sailing is a registered charity which provides sailing and other outdoor opportunities for people with disabilities. We sail regularly on Windermere at times to suit participating groups and individuals. Beginners are welcome, as are their carers and rela
tives. We now have a range of boats to cater for a broad range of abilities. Lifejackets and protective clothing will be provided. We work closely with other special needs agencies in the area who usually provide the care support and transport for our sailing members. Our activities have recently included, as well as sailing; canoeing, camping, activity holidays and walking - through the winter months. Our sailing base has good vehicle access and a winch for wheelchair users mounted on a wide, accessible floating pontoon. We have a large team of friendly volunteers on hand to support all our visitors and to help ensure they receive the best possible experience. We do not charge for our sessions, though most participants are able to give a donation in the region of £5 in order to help keep us afloat. We are reliant on our team of volunteers to enable us to operate, so we are always on the lookout for volunteers to join our team and get involved. Blackwell Sailing is supported by RYA Sailability and is a recognised RYA Training Centre. We largely rely on donations. If you would like to make a donation you can do so on our website
