A memorable day for some very special passengers! ✨

As a whole the trucking industry does some amazing things, but this one’s extra special!Today our driver Ian Moxon has participated in his 10th East Coast Truckers Charity Events convoy where nearly 100 lorry drivers takes a child with a life changing disability for a day out in the truck from Norwich (via Pleasurewood Hills for a couple of hours on the rides) and along Great Yarmouth Seafront for a day they’ll never forget!

Ian, from us all we are very grateful for you representing us in the charity event, showcasing off the truck and giving up your time to give Pixie a very memorable day! P.s the truck don’t look half bad at all either! We hope you had a great day🎉

Chapter 22- where there’s muck, there’s money🥔🚛

Early 2000’s and the work load just keeps on getting bigger, and bigger and bigger and well you get the gist!🤯

But as we say, we specialise in bulk potato and onions and this can only mean 1 thing, it’s not going to be clean 🧽 🤣 we’re in and out of farms , fields and quite frankly places lorries shouldn’t be but yet we go above and beyond to make sure your produce is the freshest possible!

The squelching of the tyres, the Lorries turn brown, and the wellies make an entrance but that’s what we love about our job (not so much in the winter when we get that wet stuff falling from the sky ☔️) but the farms are our bread and butter and that’s what we love! 👌🏼

Ready, steady, GO!!!!🚛💨

Harvest is officially a go! It’s not quite as fast as usual but Mother Nature has held off on the rain we so badly need but it will come!🌧️

Clean trucks, farms,shiny tanks and potato’s are the perfect combination 👌🏼🥔

We also broke the MAN in gently for its first week… 5 drops around Scotland🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 finishing Inverness, then reload south finishing Norwich! Driver Ian said he can’t fault the power, comfort and drive quality of the MAN, but the technology will take a bit of getting used to 🤣

We’ve got to say, the DAF,MAN and VOLVO combo look incredible 😍

Welcome, the newest members to the fleet😍

So the time has come to add some fresh trucks to the fleet, and boy have they come out well! We’re adding 6 new MAN TGX 6x2 to the fleet at Fairfield farm and adding a second turbo compound Renault T high to our Northend side!

Sometimes a change from the usual is good and that’s exactly what the MAN trucks have done, with the last time we had one on the fleet in 2008 it was time to see how things have changed 😍 the first truck will be on the road as of Monday, with the following 5 rolling out into August/September!

We hope you like them just as much as we do, they really do suit our traditional livery and that’s something that’s not changing🚛💨

Chapter 21- Trotting the globe 🌍

Our drivers literally travel the length of the globe each week ( if we get 5 mins we’ll work out the average kms per driver and give you a number of how far we go each week🤯) delivering potatoes, onions and everything in between!

So when it was time for more additions to the fleet, there one only 1 for the job! The Volvo FH12 Globetrotter 😍 the 420 horse power trucks ment more driver comforts, bigger cabs and auto gear boxes 🛠️ perfect for what the job required!

A step in the right direct for where the buisness was heading and boy was it upping its paces at a rapid speed 💨

Chapter 20- welcome the French 🇫🇷

A predominantly Swedish fleet in the late 90’s ment the 2 newest additions in August 1998 were let’s say, sticking out like sore thumbs 🤣

The 2x 380 hp Renault premiums expanded the fleet by another 2 and this ment we was now up to a total of around 30 truck’s in the fleet to heading into the new millennium!📆 not only new trucks but brand new happy roller belt bulker trailers joins the fleet! We really are growing at a fast pace!📈

But as always the trucks have to be checked to make sure they are up to standard before they hit the road and there was no better person to check her own truck was ready than Victoria! We think by the smile on her face she’s happy with how it turned out and gives it the seal of approval!🚛💨

Like a tree, it’s branches grow in different directions but the roots still firmly the same 🌳

From haulage, to cold storage and grading Fairfield Farm really covers all your potato needs! But from the farm we have the options to wash,grade,size, peel,chip and just about everything else you can do to a potato before it gets transported away to you! And why after all that precision process to get the spuds just right would you want anything other than our own haulage to finish exactly what they started and deliver it safely on the back of one of our trucks!🚚

No that’s not a brand new lorry nor is it edited! it’s now 2 years old and has plenty of miles under its belt! So while the sun was just right Dan snapped away after a days trucking to capture the family’s roots in 1 photo! 📸

Chapter 19- 420 has always been plenty!🐎

Now this one’s special, because when we brought T674-677 we never thought we’d still have 2 of them 27 years later! Yes that’s right 2 of the originals from 1999 are still with us and used daily! Well not so much trucking up and down the country but yard use and MOT test runs!

The 124-420 Scania’s really have held their own in the fleet, continually proving why they were such good reliable trucks! With a few extra additions, the lads in the workshop have made T674 a real head turner,with the paintwork and stickers still as original as the day they arrived! Also they have the analogue tachos still fitted(not used as we have smart tachos fitted) the dash still has many a memories from down the road to share! 📚

Chapter 18- one of the best made 🚛

1996 the P reg came out and we invested in yet another 4 new trucks! This time the Swedish brand Scania Group provided 4 Brand new 4 series 124 6X2 420 Scania sleeper cabs!

In years to come these 4 series trucks would provide to be a long lasting member of our transports fleet history, providing some of the strongest built trucks we’ve had!💪🏽

In due time, more and more of the 4 series Scanias would be purchased, doubling the fleet over a short space of time, changing our history to become far greater than expected!🤯

The calm before the storm ☔️

The British weather has changed its mind this week by the minute 🤦🏼‍♂️ we’ve had heat waves, rain storms and everything in between! 🌡️☔️But it all helps with the seasons crops being planted ready to kick off a hopefully busy season this year 🤞🏼🥔🧅

However this doesn’t stop our drivers, clocking up the miles up and down the country catering to our customers every needs! 🚛💨 come rain or shine we’ll be there on time every time!🕰️

We’re still going through the memories over the past 65 years, can you guess what happened next in our history?👀
