Delivery & Collection Route Scheduler
📍 Location: BL4 0LR
💷 Salary: £31,000 per year, rising to £33,000 after your first year (subject to meeting efficiency targets).
🕧 Hours: 12:30pm to 10:00pm
We’re looking for an organised, proactive problem solver to join our operations team in this unique and fast-paced role.
You’ll be based at our depot, working closely with our drivers, customers and office team to ensure time-critical collections are completed on schedule.
Your responsibilities will include:
🗺️ Using route planning software to allocate collection jobs directly to drivers’ handheld terminals (HHTs).
🚚 Planning the most efficient routes while considering vehicle weight limits, collection time windows and driver locations.
⚡ Reacting quickly to unexpected issues by reallocating work to other drivers, ensuring customer collections and trunk departure times are never compromised.
📦 Planning and routing between 13 and 18 delivery drivers each evening for the following day’s deliveries across the BL and WN areas.
We’re looking for someone who:
✔ Has excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
✔ Is confident using computers and mapping or route planning software.
✔ Thrives under pressure and enjoys making quick decisions.
✔ Can communicate effectively with drivers, customers and colleagues.
