I’ve been out and bought some new kit recently that gives me the capability to do a job that I was having to out source.

What’s the job? Vehicle remapping, we can now offer you an in house service which is what we would much sooner do rather than out source it.

Just some of the things i can do with my new equipment are:

Stage 1 performance map ✅
Eco map ✅
Egr solution ✅
Dpf solution ✅
Adblue solution ✅

Had a little fiat panda in yesterday for clutch replacement along with a timing belt and water pump replacement. As you can see not so lucky on the clutch as it completely failed and needed to be towed to us, but extremely lucky the change the timing belt when they did other wise that could have been a very costly repair if that had failed as well. With the weather being so nice you might have noticed your A/C not getting as cold as it once did. Just like our friends over at APW Plumbing & Heating. So we had there van in for a re-gas to bring it back to optimal performance.

Here’s a few jobs that’s been through our workshop recently showing the importance of basic maintenance.

The belt with all the cracks in it was taken from a Vauxhall corsa that was just 5 years older of and covered 38k miles. Along with doing the belt on this one we removed the sump to inspect the oil pick up as we do with any wet belt replacement.

Other one was a Ford that wasn’t running quite right as you can see with the air filter it was more than ready for a service this got it back running like a sewing machine

Been another busy week this week here at mad hatters, here’s a few photos of a few of the jobs we’ve undertaken. There would be more but I’m not very good at the taking photos part but I’m trying to get better

Black Nissan x-trail in for auxiliary belts replacing

Blue vw touran in for dual mass flywheel and clutch

White Suzuki alto in for clutch replacement

Silver Hyundai ix35 in for a reconditioned gearbox and whilst gearbox was removed we replaced the clutch

On of this weeks jobs we have had in, was a Nissan x-trail suffering from timing chain rattle. Once we had got it stripped and inspected, we found that the chain tensioner had failed. We replaced the chain tensioner along with the chain, guides and sprockets. When rebuilding we replaced the timing cover to ensure there was no leaks. During the visual health check of the car, we noticed that the rear brake pads and the track rod end also needed to be replaced. After contacting the customer, we then proceeded to remove and replace them with new.

Had this Mercedes in this week for the rear brake pipes replacing. The customer had been told they had been done as you can see from the photos that wasn’t the case. We replaced the old corroded pipes with new copper lines, no need to replace any further down the car than we did as there was nothing wrong with the lines going forward

Yesterday we had this Mercedes in with something you don’t see everyday the water pump shaft had failed completely. New water pump fitted along with a new auxiliary belt, coolant topped up and air bled from system it was good to go
