A big thanks to two of our wonderful customers for kindly letting us pass them at Aston lock after our brief but effective effort at removing a tree that fell across the cut.

From Middlewich we're heading up through King's Lock, Wheelock and onwards up the Cheshire Flight and on through the Harecastle tunnel over the following few days.

Halsalls Halsall schedule May / June '26

Last month we finally made it round the Four Counties Ring! This month we're hoping to mix it up a bit with a run up the Caldon (time permitting) & attending Etruria Canal Festival

So our latest schedule is below, its a bit tight with trying to pack the extras in, so it may slip slightly:-

23rd - 25th May: Northwich area including Orchard, Oakwoods & Park Farm Marinas
26th - 29th May: Middlewich, up the Cheshire Locks, through Harecastle Tunnel & up the Caldon
30th - 31st May: Etruria Canal Festival
1st - 3rd June : through Stone, Great Haywood, Penkridge, Gailey, Autherley Jn to Wheaton Aston
4th - 5th: North on the Shroppie through Norbury, Market Drayton to Audlem
6th - 9th: continueing North on the through Nantwich, Chester to Ellesmere Port, returning through Chester to Barbridge
10th - 13th Across the branch to Middlewich, followed by Northwich area including Orchard, Oakwoods & Park Farm Marinas.

Halsall schedule May '26

This month was supposed to be the first time in 7 months that we could attempt a circumnavigation of the Four Counties Ring following the reopening of Penkridge Lock..... however yesterday an emergency stoppage occurred at Red Bull, with initial indications being a repair might not be completed until Friday! So we made alternative plans & changed our route to travel anti-clockwise rather than our original plan of clockwise! So this morning we set off from Middlewich towards Barbridge instead of Harecastle, only to find this afternoon CRT repaired the broken paddle at Red Bull!!

So our latest schedule is below:-

25th - 27th April: Northwich area including Orchard, Oakwoods & Park Farm Marinas
28th - 30th April: Middlewich, across the branch to Barbridge, north to Chester & Ellesmere Port
1st - 3rd May: back through Chester & south on the Shroppie through Nantwich, Audlem, Market Drayton, Norbury, Gnosal to Autherley Jn
4th - 5th: North on the Staffs & Worcs through Coven, Gailey, Penkridge to Great Haywood
6th - 9th North on the through Stone, Stoke, Middlewich
10th - 13th Northwich area including Orchard, Oakwoods & Park Farm Marinas.
