Curlew come in for her yearly maintenance. Varnish work all prepped and revarnished using international original.

Bottom work:
The bottom was sanded,seams primed, putty was put in the seams then 2x antifoul applied.

Hallberg Rassy 39ft decks.

The decks were due a re caulk due to the black caulking coming away from the teak boards and the seam being worn down to the rebate. There was also screw heads visible from the teak plugs releasing.

This was a long job and hard on the knees for us. 1,700 teak plugs removed and replaced and over 1,300ft of seam to rake out and cut deeper. Once this was complete we primed the seams with 290 dc primer and then caulked with 290dc sika flex.

Finished result on the shrimper we painted. We used perfection pro 2 part gloss. No spraying needed.

Shrimper 19.

This shrimper has come in for a topside re paint in 2 pack gloss. The old paint has all been removed and the primer undercoat has started to go on. Gloss next week.

YWDB is complete with 8 coats of international original varnish.

Yachting world dayboat in for deck varnish to be stripped due to water ingress under the varnish.

We removed all the varnish and left to dry. Once dry we sanded with 120 grit and 180grit. This did remove some staining but not all, sanding to hard can course you to go through the first veneer, this is what you don’t want to do.

Varnish has started to go on and is looking much better. More pics to follow.

Little tideway has arrived to the shed for some maintenance. Varnish stripped off the decks and decks started to be removed.

The decks are being removed due lots of movement between the rubbing strakes and the deck coursing the varnish to crack and trap water.

Sand back, aluminium primer x4, undercoat x3 then finishing with 3x 2 pack gloss
