New Dutch Truck Toll – Important Update (from 1 July 2026)
From 1 July 2026, the Netherlands will introduce a distance-based, CO₂-differentiated toll for trucks over 3.5 tonnes, replacing the current Eurovignette system.
The toll applies to motorways, as well as selected provincial (N-roads) and municipal roads, and requires an On-Board Unit (OBU).
Key points:
📅 Start date: 1 July 2026
🚚 Who is affected: N2 & N3 trucks > 3.5 tonnes
📏 How it works: Pay per km driven

→ Cleaner trucks pay less

👉 Operators must register with a service provider and ensure their OBU is installed and active by 1 July 2026.
Penalties & Enforcement:
*Enforced by ILT and police using ANPR cameras and roadside checks.
🕒 Transition period (1 July–31 Dec 2026): 50% reduced fines
