A September to remember for BHX... Birmingham Airport has set a new passenger record for September, welcoming 1,386,372 passengers through its terminal, a 2.9% increase from the same month last year.

Low-cost flights once again proved to be the main driver behind the passenger increase, up 11.4% from September 2025 figures.

The month’s highlights also included a double win at this year’s Solihull Chamber Awards. The airport secured the titles of Community Builder and Sustainability Trailblazer in recognition of progress made over the last year on its net-zero goal for 2033 and building relationships with the community. ✈️

Last night, Birmingham Airport (BHX) hosted the BHX Charity Dinner, in support of Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity. The event raised an incredible £80,500 (and counting...) 🎈❤️

Once again located at the Heart of England Conference Centre in Meriden, this was the second event of its kind following a successful inaugural dinner in October last year.

With more than 420 guests from 52 partner organisations in attendance for an evening of live music, a three-course meal, games and fundraising. Featuring speeches by Nick Barton, CEO of BHX and Mark Brider, CEO of Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity. A very special part of the evening included a speech from Alex Cookson, who shared his family’s personal experience with the hospital.

At the inception of BHX’s partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital, the airport pledged to raise £250k over three years for the charity. With the funds raised last night, the total now stands at nearly £300,000, exceeding the airport's target.

Birmingham Airport (BHX) has unveiled its draft Master Plan ✈️

Over the next 15 years, the proposed £2bn investment could see BHX grow to serve c30 million passengers annually, generating £7.2bn GVA for the regional economy and supporting more than 50,000 jobs.

The draft Master Plan is now open for public consultation, giving local communities, businesses and stakeholders the opportunity to help shape the future of Birmingham Airport.

Replacement buses are operating between the airport and the station from Bus Stop D at the airport.
