Muharram is more than the beginning of a new year.
It is a sacred reminder of a stand that changed history forever.
In the plains of Karbala, Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions chose truth over falsehood, justice over oppression, and faith over fear. Their sacrifice was not for power or position, but for principles that continue to inspire hearts across generations.
We do not mourn only because a tragedy occurred.
We mourn because the values defended in Karbala still matter today. In a world where compromise often seems easier than conviction, the message of Karbala reminds us to remain steadfast in what is right, even when the cost is great.
Muharram is therefore not only a season of remembrance. It is a responsibility.
A responsibility to teach our children the lessons of Karbala.
A responsibility to live with integrity, compassion, and courage.
A responsibility to ensure that the light ignited in Karbala continues to illuminate hearts and minds for generations to come.
As another Muharram begins, let us remember, reflect, and renew our commitment to the timeless values that Imam Hussain (AS) stood for.
Because the story of Karbala did not end in 61 AH.
Its message lives on through us.
