The Abbotsford Trust has long safeguarded the legacy of Sir Walter Scott. Yet history is never the story of one alone.

In 2026, we will turn our attention to the women who shaped and preserved Abbotsford. Each month, we will share the story of a remarkable woman whose life and efforts have ensured that Scott’s legacy endures.

Within the walls of Abbotsford, many stories remain untold, and we are committed to bringing each one to light.

Coming soon...We start our series with the woman at the very beginning of it all, Scott’s mother, Anne Rutherford. Watch out for posts about her later this month!
