Karen and her husband have just recently visited Bastia on the island of Corsica. It's known for its pastel coloured buildings, bustling old port and citadel.
Ideal for a short break, it is only a two hour flight from Gatwick followed by a short transfer from the airport to the centre in less than 30 minutes.
From there you can take a boat trip or drive to Cape Corse. This is a long peninsula located in the north of the island featuring some stunning scenery. Bastia also has a busy port offering various routes to France, Sardinia and mainland Italy making it an ideal location for a twin centre holiday. Gemma and her husband Mark have spent a week in Kefalonia, located in the Ionian Sea, enjoying the Greek seafood and exploring this beautiful island with its little blue coloured sandy coves.

It’s worth renting a car for a few days as the island has lots to see, Fiskardo & Asos being some of the prettiest villages to visit. A short ferry ride will also take you to Ithaca with its rural unspoilt landscape.

There are lots of options with regard to accommodation in Kefalonia such as villas, self-catering apartments, hotels and luxury escapes.

Gemma and Mark stayed at the Thalassa Boutique hotel, this 5* adult only hotel is just a 5 minute walk from Lassi’s main town with lots of restaurants, tavernas and sunset bars. The hotel sits in an elevated position looking out to sea. The hotel offers peaceful relaxation in a calm environment with excellent service. Morning breakfast being a highlight.

A short 6 minute taxi drive away is Argostoli the islands main town for some speciality dining and shopping.

Karen recently travelled to Verona and Lake Garda and had a really enjoyable time.

The beauty of this twin centre is you can combine a city break with a visit to a lake with only a short transfer between the two.
Verona is a storybook city famous for it's Roman ruins and medieval architecture. It is also the setting of Romeo and Juliet and you can visit Juliet's balcony and tomb. The Arena is the largest open air theatre and hosts many operas.

Bardolino is located on the eastern part of Lake Garda and you can easily travel to many other towns by the comprehensive ferry service. You are also able to walk along the shoreline to the nearby town of Garda. Bardolino is a picturesque lakeside town famous as the w**e capital of the region. Whilst there, Karen enjoyed the very reasonably priced w**e on offer and the pleasure of witnessing some stunning sunsets.
