Directors Statement of ceasing the service.
It is with regret that RIFL are ceasing to operate the ferry service between Rathlin island and Ballycastle this afternoon 11.01.2023. Our last sailing will depart Ballycastle at 16.00.
Because of financial difficulty an Insolvency Practitioner has been appointed to place the company into liquidation.

STATEMENT FROM DEPARTMENT FOR INFRASTRUCTURE
“Rathlin Island Ferry Limited has ceased trading with immediate effect. The Department for Infrastructure recognises the importance of the ferry service for the local community and is urgently taking forward work on potential contingency arrangements. A further update on these arrangements will be provided as soon as possible”

Due to industrial action on Thursday 5th January (tomorrow) ALL sailings are cancelled, and office will remain closed.

Please check out this wonderful movie The Last Right which is on tonight on BBC 1 at 11.35pm. If its too late for you then record it or catch up on iplayer. This very well written, funny and endearing film was part filmed on our very own Rathlin Island and includes some well know actors, as well as some locals and has some footage of Ballycastle and the surrounding area too. Brilliant to see these projects created in our own communities ❤️🚢

All sailings are cancelled today due to severe weather conditions. We hope to have some sailings tomorrow. Our website is still down due to a technical issue but we hope to have it fixed today with new updated timetables available which start tomorrow 1st October.
