Went to my favourite station all the way from Cambridgeshire today for a catch up on what is going on. The strathspey are doing a wonderful job extending there engine shed beside the original. A lot has changed since last time I came up.

Aviemore is looking a little busy tonight

Well Aviemore is now set up in it’s permanent home had a few running to check and all went well. Little addition to run now sitting in the platform.

Well today was Aviemore’s last outing for now. Time has taken its toll which such a complex layout and not having the time to devote to exhibiting. The love also cannot take the strain anymore as more and more failures are becoming apparent with either the amount of detail catching or loosing three locos this year by poor manufacturing. Many thanks to those who have helped and to those who have had us at there exhibitions. It has been a joy with all the lovely positive comments with the layout. Aviemore will still be at home for personal enjoyment. The next layout has already been planned but in a larger scale let’s see what happens in the next few years.

Well done to my helpers it is always interesting to see how we do from other people’s eyes. Apart from very excited 40 racing off the stops I think we all did very well. Hope everyone enjoys.

Well many thanks to my helpers today Phil, Dave and Thomas at there first exhibition running Aviemore. Hopefully it wasn’t to noticeable. Maybe distracted by the couple of locos that didn’t like the heat and one half of the lighting failing in the afternoon. Joys of exhibiting. Thanks for the kind comments although intersting that one person expects Aviemore to have snow on the mountains most of the year.
