It is with great sadness that we share the news that our Director, Pat Laughlin, has recently passed away.

Pat was a much-valued member of the community and dedicated an enormous amount of time, energy, and commitment to Ashbourne Community Transport and many other voluntary organisations. Much of her work was carried out behind the scenes, but her contribution to the organisation and the people we serve was immense. Her kindness, intelligence, dedication, and support will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and working with her.

Pat's funeral will take place on Wednesday 24th June at 12:30pm at Markeaton Crematorium, followed by a wake at The Shoulder of Mutton, Osmaston, DE6 1LW.

Anyone who knew Pat, or who would like to pay their respects, is warmly welcome to attend.

Pat will be greatly missed by everyone at Ashbourne Community Transport and throughout the wider community. Pat's family has kindly requested that anyone wishing to make a donation do so to Ashbourne Community Transport, a cause that was very close to her heart.

Service Update – 110/111

We have been made aware of emergency road works affecting Hognaston from today until 16:00 on 1st June.

At present, our buses are still able to get through and we will continue to operate as normal for as long as possible. However, if the road is closed at any point, we will unfortunately be unable to serve Hognaston until access is restored.

We will do our best to keep to the published timetable wherever possible.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.

🚌 411 Service Update

From this Wednesday (29th April), the 411 timetable will be slightly revised to accommodate two new stops at Greatgate and Croxden.

These changes will have minimal impact on overall timings.

Service Update – Routes 110/111

Thursday 2nd April (09:00 – 16:00)

Due to a planned road closure in Hognaston Village, services 110 and 111 will be subject to a temporary diversion between 09:00 and 16:00.

During this time, buses will enter Hognaston via Stonepit Lane, serve the Church bus stop, and then turn around to exit the village the same way.

The following stops will not be served during the closure:

Hognaston, Turlow Fields
Hognaston, Four Lane Ends

Services will continue to serve Carsington Water Visitor Centre.

We will aim to operate as close to the timetable as possible. Once the road reopens, normal service will resume.

🚍 A53 Leek to Buxton Service Update

From Sunday 29th March, there will be changes to the Sunday A53 timetable.
🕒 Buses will continue to depart from Leek and Buxton at the same times as before.
📍 However, timings for stops along the route will be adjusted to help improve your journey.

Important Update – Dial-a-Ride Fares

From April, the cost of our Dial-a-Ride services will be increasing.
Journeys into Ashbourne will increase by around £2 from the current fares. Prices for bespoke trips and journeys to Derby Hospital will also be increasing.

This has not been an easy decision. We have not increased our prices since 2022, but with the rising costs of fuel, vehicle maintenance, and other operating expenses, this change will help us continue providing the service for our community.

Service Update – Routes 110/111

Unfortunately, due to an unplanned road closure in Hopton, we are currently unable to serve Hopton until the road reopens.

The road is expected to reopen on Thursday 19 March at 16:00, after which we hope to resume normal service.

During this period, buses will divert into Carsington Village via Main Street (opposite Sheepwash Car Park), turn around at the triangle near The Miners Arms, and return the same way (opposite Sheepwash).

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.

🥾🌿 Not long now until the Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival!

There are some fantastic walks coming up in some truly beautiful locations across the Moorlands — a great chance to get outdoors and explore the area.

Many of the walk locations are also covered by our Moorlands Connect service, so it could be the perfect opportunity to leave the car at home and travel to the start of your walk by bus instead. 🚌
