This week we wished one of our longest-serving drivers a happy retirement.
30 years ago, Alan drove past Crich Cross on his way to start his first day with G. & M. Hartshorne Ltd. Today, he drove past it for the last time in an HGV.
In between? Three decades of getting the job done, never moaning, and keeping everyone laughing while he was at it. If there was a load to shift, Alan shifted it. If there was a dull moment, Alan killed it.
30 years of reliable, no-fuss, get-on-with-it service — and always with a grin on his face.
From everyone at Hartshornes, thank you Alan / Greek god / Zorba. You’re one of a kind and you’ll be properly missed. Certainly a hard act to follow!
Now get yourself to the pub. You’ve earned it.
Congratulations on your retirement, Alan. Here’s to holidays, pints, and never setting an alarm again.
