✈️ Airport operations update
Following last night’s severe weather, Guernsey Airport reopened as planned this morning after only minor damage was reported on the airfield, with no impact to the terminal.
Our operational teams were on site before first light to carry out inspections of the aerodrome and clear windblown debris from the runway. After flights were suspended at 6pm yesterday, the terminal reopened to passengers at 7am and flight operations resumed from 8.30am, with Aurigny’s first inbound flight from Southampton landing shortly afterwards.
While Alderney Airport experienced more significant damage overnight, teams worked quickly to clear debris and safely reopen the airfield this morning.
A huge thank you to our staff in both Guernsey and Alderney, and to our airline partners, for their swift response and teamwork in helping minimise disruption and get passengers moving again safely today.
