It’s a long read but stick with us, be sure to scroll through and see all the before, during and after pictures!
As you boaty folk know space saving is pretty important on your boats which is why when when this lithium system was installed by someone not familiar with boats, this equipment took up the whole floor to ceiling cupboard.
Some of it was a bit unsightly and some of it was installed incorrectly. The customer asked us to come in and condense it all and free up some storage space so what’s what we did.
We ended up starting again pretty much. We started in the engine bay sorting out the unequal battery cables to help keep the batteries balanced when charging and tidied up the Orion wiring.
We then jumped to the cabin and as you can see it was all over the place. When you opened the cupboard door the crimps would pull off the switch panel and Eberspächer control panel as the cables were too tight. The customer knocked us up a quick box to mount the switch panel, inverter digital controller and the battery monitor display so it was out the way in the cupboard.
We moved all the equipment down low and managed to re-use most of the existing cable but had to make a few adjustments as some parts were installed incorrectly.
All the equipment in this system talks to one another and can be monitored whenever or wherever in the world by the customer, our supplier or myself via the internet through the secure VRM portal which gives the customer that peace of mind as we have alarms set up in case anything goes untoward.
Not only do we use a local Victron dealer to ensure the best customer service if you ever have a problem with a piece of equipment or batteries (sometimes this can be rectified the same day). But we are a qualified Victron installer who has gone through the hours of training and had work overseen by top Victron engineers in the marine industry to make sure it was up the standard.
For any electrical installations please don’t hesitate to get in contact for a free no obligation estimate on all works.
Again, sorry for the essay!
