"Goals are my North Star. My Compass.

The map that guides me along the road I wish to travel." This page has been set up to support our website and is a simple means to keep family and friends updated on our progress as we move forward with planning and eventually start our April 2017 trip to travel from Cyprus to Turkey and then on into Europe. Stopping at as many countries as we can and with no time limit to restrict how lo

ng we stay in any country we visit. Total flexibility. So as we continue with our planning and preparations the website and this FB Page is where we will document our progress. Mistakes will be made and we expect them and like successes these will be documented too. And this is important as we can learn how to do things better in the future and avoid making the same mistakes over and over.

We hope this our efforts might inspire others to go out and travel a little more. In the same way we have been inspired by the likes of Lizzybus, Sirocco Overland and may other Overlanders out there. If it inspires one person to go out and take even a short overland trip then this website is a success.

Summary

The world we live in right now is very unstable and if you hold back too long many of the most beautiful countries, wondrous sites and animals may no longer be around to visit such as Palmyra in Syria where the ancient sites have been vandalised and destroyed taking something from all of us. Or the critically endangered Rhino that unless we change will only be able to see in zoos and books. So please bear with us as we climb this steep learning curve and progress with our trips and planning. Take a look at the photos from our previous trips and I dare you not to want to add the likes of Namibia or Jordan to your bucket lists.

Hopefully we will meet some of you on the road and look forward to hearing your stories / experiences whilst taking the opportunity to share a coffee over an open fire or a cold beer.

Finally got a caravan connector for the so taking the opportunity to try it out.

It slides into the channel on our darche 180 awning and we can still fit the sides and front panel so we can use the whole system as a drive away awning.

Previously as it wasn't connected to the van it was classed as a tent in some campsites so we had to pay extra or in some cases it wasn't accepted at all.

In the winter with the wood stove it will be a game changer.

Anyone else run the same set up or similar?

Watching the latest episode of on youtube and reminicing of our trip.

We flew into Windhoek, hired a 4x4 pick up with roof tent and camping equipment and had an experience that will stay with us forever.

It was the test trip that confirmed we could progress and do our own trips eventually completing the Pamir Highway and Mongolia.

Chasing the last light.

There’s something special about finding a quiet track just as the sun drops below the trees. Engine ticking as it cools. Dust settling.

No crowds.
No schedule.
Just the road ahead and the freedom to follow it.

This is why we travel.

A sound you get that you know is going to be expensive

Update: I started it an hour later and no issues. Plugged in Carista which showsza Haldex Clutch pump fault only.

Started it again this morning, no issues and took it a 10 mile test drive and absolutely perfect.
