What it’s really like to start a travel business 👇

Starting your own business naturally means a lot of trial and error. But it also means stepping out of your comfort zone 🚶‍♀️

It means doing things before you feel ready, because that is where growth happens. By going to my first ever, I learned a lot about myself and what I need to do to achieve my goals.

From now on, I will no longer create content that doesn’t make me happy. No more listening to insta gurus telling me to create short aesthetic reels: I’m all about diving deeper into responsible travel 🍃

And because I am still at the start of my journey, I will share what it is really like to start a travel creator business with my new series: But Can She Work Abroad?

This series will revolve around my five goals for 2026:

1. Publish my first article in print
2. Reach 10K followers on Instagram
3. Get a 1000 readers a month on my blog
4. Go on my first sponsored trip
5. Start my YouTube channel

Yes, I am aiming high, and that is precisely the point! Sustainable growth through challenging myself 💪

And because I want to connect with *you*, I’d love to know what you’d like to see? Let me know, and I’ll speak to you soon 🫶

You can find this marvel of nature and human design…

…in Zadar, Croatia 🇭🇷

The Sea Organ was designed by Nikola Bašić. Playing with the waves and tides of the sea, the organ gives you a peek into what the ocean might have to say if it could speak.

The 35 well-tuned pipes have been built in the city’s promenade, and are covered by steps on which you can sit to enjoy the ocean’s music 🌊

Amid the city’s beauty, it was my favorite attraction in Zadar. The calming sounds enveloped me so completely, I felt like I was floating amongst the waves 🪸 And I could not help but wonder what the sea was trying to tell us through its sounds.

What do you think it is trying to tell us? No wrong answers here 🫶

There might have been some incidents this sister trip…

…but our first day in Croatia was super smooth ✨

and I started in Zadar, one of the country’s stunning coastal city’s. I especially loved the sea organ 🌊 Have you ever heard something like it?

To find out what went wrong, you’ll have to stick around though! I promise you won’t have to wait long, but please let me know what you think happened in the comments 👇

I warn you, this hotel poses a dilemma 🤔

I could have stayed at the all day. From lounging in my red velvet bed to lingering over craft cocktails at the bar: it’s been a while since I had such a dreamy escape ✨

But its respective neighborhoods, Charlottenburg and Wilmersdorf, were equally thrilling. So, I dragged myself out of the hotel and spent a day discovering the area, which showed me a side to Berlin I had not seen before 🎞️

And as I don’t gatekeep, here’s every place I visited while staying at

📍Schloss Charlottenburg

📍Cappuccinos and Bircher Müsli at

📍Myriad antique stores at the Suarezstraße

📍Photography exhibitions at

Which of these places will you be visiting during your stay?

The countdown has officially begun ✨⛷️

In a little over a month, we will be returning to for a week of skiing, French cheese, and wine. This small ski resort has been our go-to for the past five years, and we can’t get enough of it!

A 7-day ski pass will grant you access to three ski resorts, and if you combine it with a day ticket to Val Thorens, you have got yourself an epic week full of diverse slopes🚡

What is your favorite place to go skiing in winter? Let me know in the comments 💬 In the meantime, check out my complete La Norma skiing guide through the link in bio 🔗

The secret is out, and I couldn’t be more thrilled 🤫

I have been gluten free for over 11 years now. The constraints a GF diet lays on travel were a large part of the reason to start Amber Eats Abroad. But, with all the tests I have done the last couple of months, I am free and can finally eat gluten again 🥐

Not to worry though, I will keep sharing my travels and guides, but not in the way I used too. My content will be changing, as I have changed. 👇

The past couple of months have not only marked a change in my diet, but in my entire life. I recently started as a part-time travel writer and creator, working hard to achieve my dreams of doing it full-time someday. As this career is not so straightforward, I will be sharing all of my challenges and successes along the way. So you can see what it is really like to be a beginner travel creator 🏝️

I will also be sharing content on another passion of mine: sustainable and responsible travel. This is a tricky and complex one, but also a very important topic in my opinion. So, expect sustainable guides, tips and travel diaries in the future 🌿

I am super thrilled with all these changes and would love for you to stick around to experience them with me. Let me know in the comments if you’ve been through similar changes recently, as I would love to hear everything that has turned your life upside down 💬

💕 Lots of love, Amber

Save this one for later 💾

Traveling abroad always feels like a challenge when gluten free, especially when traveling outside of Europe. However, I have found Indonesia to be way easier than many European countries like France or Croatia.

The main reason for this is that most dishes are rice based. Even desserts are often made of rice flour! The biggest challenge here is finding the hidden gluten in ingredients like soy sauce, or anything that is fried. However, when you follow these five tips, you will find plenty to eat 🍛

If you loved these tips, but would love to know more about how to travel Indonesia gluten free, then check out my full GF Indonesia guide through the link in my bio 🔗

Don’t know which one to choose? Here’s my top pick 💎

I always approach travel from the perspective of a vacation, at least for the first stop. It is probable you will start your travels right after a hectic period at work: working hard to fund that well-deserved trip. Before I can fully immerse myself in a place, I need to relax for at two to three days.

This is why Kuta, Lombok is my top pick ✨ This city has it all: gorgeous hotels with phenomenal breakfast and pools like .lombok, relaxing beaches like Selong Belanak and a buzzing surf culture. This is also the perfect spot to get to know more about local life through food, conversations and activities that support the island. Besides, if you have had enough of relaxing, you can travel to the island’s volcano, Mount Rinjani, for an epic and adventurous hike 🌋

Do you have another spot you would like to visit first? Drop it in the comments below 👇

Save this one for your next Indonesian road trip 🛵💾

Whether you are looking to visit an off-the-beaten-track tea plantation or a secluded beach, renting a motorbike gives you a lot of freedom to discover hidden spots. But there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind before you hit the road, like checking the license plate, getting the right helmet and making sure you film all the existing 👮‍♂️

While it might sound like a hassle, scootering around Indonesia is a must-do and we will be sure to do it again sometime. Will you be exploring Indonesia by scooter when you visit? Let me know in the comments 👇
