Climate & Clean Air Coalition We are the only global partnership working together to reduce short-lived climate pollutants.

The Climate and Clean Air Coalition is a voluntary partnership of governments, intergovernmental organizations, the private sector, the environmental community, and other members of civil society, all working together to reduce the short-lived climate pollutants that push earth’s temperatures higher and harm health, agriculture and ecosystems. We take urgent and collective actions across different sectors to address emissions of multiple sources of black carbon, methane, hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), and tropospheric ozone that could bring rapid and multiple benefits for human well-being and environment. The Coalition's work is complimentary to the global action to reduce carbon dioxide, in particular efforts under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

That's a wrap on the 2026 CCAC Annual Meeting in Bangkok!

Across three days, governments and partners came together to advance super pollutant action, strengthen international cooperation and unlock new financing opportunities.

A new report developed with Climate Policy Initiative highlighted the urgent need to scale financing for super pollutant mitigation, while discussions explored how carbon markets, Article 6 and new investment approaches can help close the gap.

More than US$36 million in new philanthropic funding was announced to accelerate sustainable cooling and reduce HFC emissions.

The meeting closed with a call to take the partnerships and financing opportunities developed in Bangkok back to capitals and organizations, and turn them into action ahead of COP31.

Day 2 of the CCAC Annual Meeting 2026 in Bangkok put the spotlight on financing super pollutant action.

New findings revealed that just 0.5% of global climate mitigation finance goes towards tackling super pollutants, despite proven solutions offering up to US$15 in economic benefits for every dollar invested.

From unlocking finance and strengthening methane regulations to scaling solutions across agriculture, cooling and clean air, today's discussions focused on turning evidence into investment and action on the ground.

Ten years after the Kigali Amendment, Rwanda and CCAC are rallying governments and funders to cut harmful refrigerants and expand efficient cooling.

The priority now is to turn that support into faster action where heat and cooling demand are rising.
