Auto Entrepreneur in the Deux-Sevres

My wife Mandy and myself moved to France in October 2014 after having worked for big companies all my life. We had Bought our house in 2008 just as an investment but during the modernisation we fell in love with the lifestyle and countryside and had to make the move.

Best decision we ever made. Although not without its challenges as the French system is something you have to get used to. Within a few months I had spent a week on the ‘stage’ (French course for new entrepreneurs) and was fully registered and insured to operate and hire Nacelle telescopique (cherry picker). Mandy had spent the last 2 years of being in the UK training and qualifying as a personal trainer so became registered here.

We are still modernising as we do almost all the work ourselves and work just takes up so much of out time. I carry out most work at height from roof and chimney work, Satelite systems to tree work and have even been found rescuing terrified cats from trees and poles. Working with other artisans to install flue liners, plumbing etc I love the variety and travel to different areas.
