REAL-WORLD SAFETY. PROVEN IN FLIGHT. 🦄✈️

During a 3-hour flight, an unexpected problem occurred: contaminated fuel in the tanks went unnoticed, and the fuel filter became clogged in flight.

Fuel pressure dropped to just 0.1 bar. But the Unicorn Aviation system is designed with multiple levels of redundancy.

When the primary fuel supply was compromised, the mechanical pump automatically took over and continued supplying the engine.

The pilot was able to maintain safe engine operation, land calmly at the nearest suitable airfield, and resolve the issue on the ground.

What happens if an RPM sensor fails? ⚙️✈️

At Unicorn Aviation, redundancy is built into the system from the start.

Our injection system continuously monitors the engine RPM using redundant sensors. If one sensor fails, the system detects it and continues operating with the remaining sensor — with no interruption to engine operation.

For our double-redundant configuration, four RPM sensors work in parallel, providing an additional layer of reliability.

The September issue of Aviation et Pilote magazine features an in-depth article about Unicorn Aviation and our fuel injection system.
