Did you know Sorrento isn’t actually on the Amalfi Coast? I didn’t either!!

We stayed there anyway, and here’s exactly why we’d do it again 🙌🏼

SAVE this before you book your Amalfi Coast trip 🗺

#1. It’s easier to get to 🚆
You can take a train, bus, ferry, or private transfer from Naples to Sorrento in under an hour. The Amalfi Coast towns aren’t reachable by train at all, and it’s further from Naples, so expect longer transit times (plus those windyyy cliffside roads)

#2. It’s cheaper 💰
The Amalfi Coast is famously luxurious, which means higher hotel costs, especially in peak season. We were booking last minute and had way more reasonable options in Sorrento!

#3. It’s easier to get around from ⛴️
Sorrento is well-connected by train, bus, and ferry — we hopped the train for a half day in Pompeii, did a full-day trip to Capri with a 25-minute ferry ride, and took a boat day to see Positano and Amalfi

#4. It’s a much bigger town 🗺️
Sorrento is way more spread out (but still totally walkable), which makes the crowds feel more bearable, plus there’s no shortage of places to eat, drink, and shop without needing a reservation

Overall, we LOVED the vibes of Sorrento and would 10/10 stay here again!! 🥰

Want to know more?? Comment SORRENTO and I’ll send you my full blog post breaking this topic further!

Would you rather stay in Sorrento or right on the Amalfi Coast? 🤔

How to get to Sorrento from Naples (5 different options!) 🚄🚗⛴️

One of my friends warned me about the public transportation in Italy before our trip, and they were notttt lying lol.

If you’re flying into Naples like we did, there are several different ways to get to Sorrento (where we stayed as our home base)!!

Here are the different options👇🏼🗺

Private Transfer 🚗
€90pp, 60-90 min — the easiest option, door to door transfer from the airport!

Train (Campania Express) 🚆
€15, ~1hr10 — guaranteed seat + AC, worth it if you’re hauling luggage

Train (Circumvesuviana) 🚈
€5, ~1hr20 — the cheapest and most frequent option, but it fills up fast and can be crowded

Ferry ⛴️
€20, 45 min — the most scenic way !! But have to get to the ferry dock from the airport

Bus (Curreri Viaggi) 🚌
€13, 75-90 min — direct from the airport, no transfers needed. This is probably what I will do next time!

July Travel Blogging Report 💻

Howwww is it already August 😅

Time is flyingggg!!

July ended up being my highest income month of the year (cracking $10K!!!), but after my lowest income month in June, it’s not AS good as it sounds.

Most of that jump was from 2 brand payouts (for work I did in June) + my summer camp payout landing this month, not some magic July surge!

Speaking of camp… it’s been SO much fun! We have 18 girls in camp and I’ve been loving sharing all of my nerdy engineering blog processes with them!🤓🏕️

I spent over half my time in July working on camp stuff but it honestly doesn’t feel like work! 🧡🧡

The rest of my time in July went to finally finishing my Italy cluster, and I had the best time writing those posts 🇮🇹

Basically, I stopped being so strict about keywords and just wrote what felt right for once, and it made the whole process really flow well✨

Between camp and Italy blog posts, my plan to update my Croatia cluster kinda fell by the wayside 🇭🇷😕

Now I’m deciding if it’s worth spending time on in August since by the time I finish, summer will be mostly over!

I also basically disappeared from Instagram once camp started, and it honestly felt so good to have a social media break 😅

My income didn’t budge, because so little of it comes from IG anyway!!!

Also, my blog traffic and earnings were actually UP this month, which is definitely worth celebrating! 🎉

If you want to learn more about where the money came from and what’s working/what’s not, I share way more detail in my monthly blogging report emails!

Comment EMAIL and I’ll send you the link to access those 📧

JUNE BLOGGING REPORT 🩵🩵

I made this at the beginning of the month and then totally forgot to post it because things got busy!

June was a low income month for a few reasons, but I crushed all of my goals and ended the month feeling very positive about July 🙏🏼

I also took a decent amount of time off in June for a cruise and a trip to NYC 🚢 🗽

Finally completed my Greece blog post audits, and have seen a nice little traffic boost from that already!

I was supposed to start my Croatia audits in July but that didn’t really happen because I’ve been spending most of time on my Blog Like An Engineer Summer Camp 🤓🏕️

It’s been so fun connecting with the 18 girls in camp 💃🏼 we have 2-3 calls per week!!

I’m still deciding if I’m going to run the camp again or make it a self-paced course, let me know if you have a strong preference either way! 😬

We will see how many of my July goals I knock out, but I’m excited to start fresh in August either way!

If you want more details on the income side of things and what I’m working on, comment EMAIL for the link to sign up for my detailed blogging reports 💻

Here’s exactly how we spent 2 days in Dubrovnik!! 🇭🇷

I completely fell in love with this city when we visited!

It feels like stepping into an episode of Game of Thrones (which is part of the reason we visited in the first place)!

But it’s also sooo much more than that!!! 🤗

Here is what I recommend doing on your first visit!

DAY 1 👑
• morning: guided walking tour or Game of Thrones tour (SO worth it for the local stories!!)
• afternoon: ferry to Lokrum Island — swim in the sea and explore the gardens
• evening: Buža Bar for cliff jumping + sunset drinks, then dinner in Old Town

DAY 2 🌊
• morning: walk the Old Town City Walls, then a quick dip in Pile Bay to cool off
• afternoon: cable car up to Mount Srd + lunch at Panorama Restaurant at the top
• afternoon: visit Fort Lovrijenac for insane views of Old Town
• evening: sunset dinner at Nautika overlooking Pile Bay — worth every penny!!

2 days goes fast but you can pack SO much in!!

Don’t visit Split without doing these things 🇭🇷

🌊 Stroll the Riva Promenade
The seafront walk is SO good — grab a coffee and just wander

🏛️ Explore Diocletian’s Palace
A UNESCO World Heritage Site right in the middle of the city — don’t miss the underground cellars!!

🌙 Wander Old Town at night
The vibe after dark is amazing — cocktails on the palace steps with live music

🎬 Game of Thrones Walking Tour
Diocletian’s Palace has some iconic filming spots — a local guide makes it so much more fun

🥾 Climb Marjan Hill
Panoramic views of Split from the top + lunch at Teraca Vidilica

🌿 Day trip to Krka National Park
Just over an hour from Split — we skipped this and I wish we didn’t!

⛵️ Island hop to Hvar and Vis
Book a boat tour from Split — one of the best days of the whole trip

🌅 Sunset at Kasjuni Beach
Rent a sun bed and watch the sun go down — heavenly!

🍷 Go wine tasting
Croatian wine is so underrated!!

🏖️ Relax on the beaches
Rocky but gorgeous — pack sandals you can get wet in

🍦 Eat alllll the gelato
This one is non-negotiable 😂

If you only do one thing while in Greece… make it a boat tour around the island of Milos 🌊🇬🇷

I saw photos of that electric aqua water on Instagram before our trip and honestly thought it couldn’t possibly look like that in real life…

It does. It looks exactly like that!! Actually even better 🥹

Here’s exactly what our boat day looked like!!

And don’t forget to save this for your Milos trip!! 🗺

☀️ Board the boat first thing in the morning
🌊 Sail to a crystal blue swimming spot and dive in
🍺 Enjoy a cold Greek beer on the deck
🍽 Sit down for a delicious Greek lunch on board
🪨 Then arrive at the famous Kleftiko Caves…
🚤 Explore the caves and secret lagoons on a smaller dinghy boat
💙 Swim in what I can only describe as Gatorade blue water
🧗 And cliff jump straight into the sea!!

Honestly one of the most magical days of my entire life 😭

We went with Polco Sailing and would 100% recommend them!! The tour is about $200/person and SO worth it.

The only regret I have is not booking the tour that goes to Polyaigos island too!

Comment BOAT and I’ll send you my full blog post with all the details on our day and what tour we booked!! 💌

If you visit Greece, PLEASE go hungry!! 😭🇬🇷🍴

Here are some of the best foods from our trip:

🐙 Fresh octopus & calamari
We had incredible seafood all over the islands, but the octopus and calamari from Sunset Ammoudi in Santorini was top-tier!!

🥙 Gyros from Pito Gyros in Oia
We loved these SO much that we literally went back again before leaving Santorini. So cheap and so delicious!

🥐 Spanikopita
I grabbed this one at the Santorini airport and even the airport food in Greece was amazing 😂

🫒 Greek dips & mezze
The hummus and appetizers at Thalami Restaurant in Oia were SO good.

☕ Freddo cappuccino
If you like iced coffee, you NEED to try a Freddo cappuccino in Greece!! We had a few but the one at Galini Cafe on our Fira to Oia hike was yummmmyyyy

🐟 Fresh ceviche & seafood
Not traditional Greek food necessarily, but some of the seafood restaurants on Milos were INSANE. The ceviche from Astakas Cafe was genuinely one of the best things I’ve ever eaten!

🐙 More octopus 😂
The grilled octopus from Medusa Cafe in Mandrakia on Milos was another standout!!

🍍 Tuna ceviche from Sirocco Volcanic Restaurant
SO fresh and flavorful. Also their lemon potatoes were one of my favorite things we ate the entire trip - I keep trying to re-create them at home

🍺 Local Greek beer
Perfect after a beach day or while watching the sunset by the water 🤍

What Greek food would you want to try first?! 👀

Comment “GREECE” and I’ll send you my full Greece itinerary + blog posts with hotel recommendations, restaurants, hidden gems, transportation tips, and more 🇬🇷
