The new telecabine from the base station at the Grands Montets to the mid station at Lognan will be open for this winter.

The gondola's have been running daily for the workes still working on the mid station and the lift to the summit. This second section from Lognan is due for completion for the 2027/2028 season.

Ioannis finished his Tor330 race late last night in Courmayeur, congratulations 🎊 👏 💪

He finished in 111th place in a time of 110:40:01 hrs

Many of those who have travelled with us over the years will have met one of our long standing drivers Ioannis Kalikas.
He is currently undertaking the Tor des Géants trail running race in the Aosta Valley.

The Tor330 is a 330km race around the Aosta Valley starting and finishing in Courmayeur.

Ioannis is currently in 112th place and you can look up his progress via the live tracking here:

His bib number is 159, or search his name.
He started on Sunday 13th September and has a bit more than 25km to go to the finish line. He has covered around 310km so far, he will finish well inside the 150hr time limit.

Hopefully we can update when he has completed this incredible route.

This June the 12th to the 15th I'm taking part in the World Climate Relay, alongside people from 45 countries to raise money for high impact climate solutions.

Whilst I have long distance bike toured all over the world often twice a year for the past 20 years crossing continents and covering vast distances between 3,000km to 6,000km in 4 weeks. I have never asked for sponsorship, so now is your chance to sponsor our 450km 3 day, 3 person challenging cycle across the heart of the Italian dolomites crossing some big alpine cols unsupported.

100% of all donations go to top climate non-profits, hand picked by climate researchers for their exceptional impact.

Haute Transfer has been supporting the World Climate Relay since it's inception, and today marks the start of the challenge week.

Dolomites 450km cycle in 3 days Christy, Alun and Charlie D

Day 1 is the ‘easy intro’, none of the big classic passes but decent distance with not too much altitude gain.

Day 2 is the big distance day 200km with ascent of Stelvio both directions and a big loop around into Switzerland + Austria.

Day 3 is the killer. Shortest in distance but takes on the Mortirolo (12km & 12%avg 🤯) & the Gavia - clockwise the easy way or anti clockwise the proper ‘ard way.

Winter is not over yet!
10-15cm of new snow overnight at 800m, Chamonix is has reverted back to winter this mornings with around 40-50cm of new snow at 2000m. Ongoing snowfall today, some sun tomorrow Friday 27th and winter days this weekend.
