Santeri Reila, a vocational student at Kotka Maritime School, completed one of his onboard training periods aboard our vessel Baltic Amelie. Now, he’s featured in the new season of Amispäiväkirjat TV show, which follows the everyday lives, learning journeys and career paths of Finnish vocational students.

One of the most memorable moments from our summer on board. 🚁

Local rescue services regularly conduct exercises on board vessels to practise helicopter operations and rescue procedures. In this exercise, a rescue professional was lifted from the vessel by helicopter, giving everyone involved valuable practice for situations where quick and coordinated action is needed. ⚓

Exercises like these are an important part of safety at sea and help strengthen cooperation between crew and local rescue services. A memorable sight from the deck of MV Marilie, and a great reminder of the importance of being prepared at sea. 🌊

From the deck to the track: RABN’s crew put the pedal to the metal

Today, our maritime professionals headed out to the karting track in Turku and put their racing skills to the test.

At RABN’s Crew Day, our team members didn’t hesitate to find out who could keep their cool under competitive pressure. While the top drivers received their prizes at the end of the race, the day wasn’t all about winning (although it may have been just a little about beating your colleague’s time).

All in all, Crew Day was filled with friendly competition, plenty of laughs and some great racing spirit. We think everyone who took part has earned three cheers 🥳🥳🥳

Did you know that today is World Maritime Day, a day celebrating the people and work behind global shipping?

Coincidentally, we’re also hosting Officer’s Day in Turku, bringing together RABN’s officers from across our fleet to discuss maritime matters and exchange experiences.

This year’s theme for World Maritime Day is “From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence.” It’s about turning rules and standards into practical action on board and ashore.

A lot happens between rules and regulations on paper and the moment they become part of everyday work. For us at RABN, today is a great opportunity to discuss what our strategy looks like in practice and how it becomes part of everyday crew operations.

It took us less than a year to realize that MV Jolie belongs under the Finnish flag.⚓

In 2025, we wanted to try registering a ship under a different flag to see how it impacts day-to-day operations. Unlike the seven other vessels in our fleet, Jolie was registered under the Cyprus flag.

We quickly noticed that to achieve peak efficiency, our vessels need dedicated crews who share the same company culture, working practices, and sense of responsibility.

For RABN, operating under the Finnish flag means a commitment to responsible operations, reliable service, and caring for our people. With Jolie now operating under the Finnish flag, we have further strengthened our fleet and the way we work together. 🤝

We are happy to welcome Veera Korvensyrjä as our new CFO at RABN. ⚓🌊

Veera joins us with a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience from the technology, accounting and healthcare industries. While every industry has its own characteristics, the fundamentals of financial management remain similar, allowing Veera to bring valuable expertise from her previous roles to RABN.

”I haven’t spent very much time at sea, although my family did have a small open motorboat when I was a child. But truth be told, nowadays I’m a total landlubber,” Veera says.

In her new role, Veera will focus on maintaining a clear overview of RABN’s financing, forecasting and financial performance. With her experience and expertise, we are confident that she will be a valuable addition to the RABN team.

For RABN, the Baltic Sea is an important part of our everyday work and connects the communities, businesses and people around its shores. We are proud to take part in celebrating this unique marine environment. The day is an opportunity to appreciate our shared sea, raise awareness of its importance and encourage actions that support its future. 🌱

To mark the occasion, a generous and nutritious Baltic Sea menu inspired by the flavours of the region will be served on board our vessels. 🐟
