Ever wanted to try trick riding? 👀🐴🔥

This summer professional stunt rider Anni Jauhiainen is coming back to Ranch Kuulas for another trick riding course… because the first one SOLD OUT in just a few days 🤯

And no — this is not only for professional stunt people.

Trick riding is actually one of the BEST ways to improve your balance, confidence and safety skills around horses. The very first thing you learn is how to fall safely from a horse, something every rider should honestly practice.

During the workshop we start completely from the basics:
🐴 Training on fake horses
🤸 Practicing with trampolines & equipment
🪢 Learning techniques safely step by step

After that we move onto real horses while standing still, and the bravest riders may also get to try tricks in canter 🔥

No previous experience needed.
You do NOT need to be advanced rider.
We start from the beginning ❤️

There were moments this spring when I honestly didn’t know if we would make it in time. 😵‍💫

On March 20th our accommodation building didn’t even have a roof yet. And somehow… yesterday we cleaned the last construction mess from the yard, this morning I sewed the curtains, and the rooms were ready just TWO HOURS before our first guests arrived 🤣❤️

This place has been built almost entirely with our own hands, limited budget, very little sleep and a lot of stubborn Finnish “we’ll figure it out somehow” energy by

But now… it’s finally alive. Horses in the yard, guests arriving, coffee brewing in the old log house and summer beginning in Lapland ☀️🐴

And honestly?
We’re ridiculously proud of what Ranch Kuulas has become.

Everyone talks about wanting “authentic experiences” now.

But authenticity is not always comfortable.

Sometimes it’s muddy boots in the hallway.
Smoke smell in your hair after campfire.
No phone signal.
Carrying firewood so there’s hot water for shower.
Silence so deep it almost feels strange at first.

Real countryside life is not a polished performance built for tourists.

Animals still need care when the weather is bad.
Things break.
Plans change.

And somehow… those are usually the moments people remember forever.

Maybe authenticity is not about perfection.

Maybe it’s about feeling something real again.

How do you explain this feeling to someone who has never been on a winter holiday?

The silence of snowy forests.
Hoofsteps on snowy ground.
Warm hands around a campfire cup.
The sound of sleigh bells in the dark.
Frozen eyelashes.
Northern lights above the trees.
Coming back inside after hours in the cold and feeling truly alive again.

Winter in Lapland doesn’t really feel real until you experience it yourself.

And honestly… videos never fully capture the feeling. ❄️

Most people think horseback riding is about speed, adrenaline or checking another activity off the bucket list.

But honestly?

That’s not what people remember here.

They remember the silence.
The sound of hoofbeats in the forest.
The smell of campfire coffee.
A foal walking behind its mother on the trail.
The feeling of finally slowing down.

We built this place differently on purpose.

Small groups.
No mass tourism.
No riding next to roads.
No horses working nonstop all day.

Because our horses are not machines.
And this is not a tourist factory.

This is real life in Finnish Lapland, shared with the people who truly want to experience it. 🤍
