We had a relaxing weekend soaking up the 90-degree weather, ocean views, and watching humpback whale pods swim by every day 🐋🌊
I really wanted to love this resort. The room was nice, the people were great, and our pool was perfectly warm. Everything was great… except the food.
We usually have amazing meals on trips, but this time not so much. Surprisingly, the best food we had was room service—French fries and onion rings 😅 (and honestly, room service was the most consistent).
I’m not a picky eater, but food should at least taste good. The soy sauce somehow looked like brown water with oil and tasted burnt (still trying to figure out how that’s even possible). The beef filet at the French restaurant arrived cold inside with lentils as the “sauce,” and the Italian restaurant had watery risotto and pasta with almost no sauce at all.
That said, at least it was truly relaxing. I usually spend my weekends diving, but with sinus issues this week, I decided to just slow down—and apparently, we needed it. We slept until 9 both mornings, which never happens. It was nice to simply sit, do nothing, and enjoy the moment… even if we were briefly woken up by an earthquake 😳.
I really wanted to love this place so we could come back, but unfortunately, that probably won’t happen. The staff was wonderful, but they definitely need to step up their food game.
Well, back home we go and start preparing for the next big adventure ✈️🌍
