“Why does it cost so much?” is among the single most frequent questions we receive about our fenders. And we understand that, since our premium products do indeed cost more than traditional air fenders.

Our fenders are designed and manufactured in Finland. Not overseas, where it’s much harder to have full control over labor conditions, production quality and the materials being used. We know where and how our products are made — because we’re there.

X-Fender is made from carefully selected, high-quality materials designed to withstand the demands of boating. We don’t cut corners just to bring the price down.

A fender is supposed to protect your boat season after season. X-Fender is built with durability in mind, so you’re investing in a product designed to stay with your boat for years, not something you’ll replace every few seasons.

🎯 Designed to perform, and look damn good doing it
Traditional fenders work. We wanted to make something that works even better, while being easier to store, more versatile and actually looks good on your boat.

We could make X-Fender cheaper. We could outsource production overseas, make them out of flimsy materials and sell it on one of the many so-and-so big online retail sites.

We’d just have to compromise on our brand and our product.

That product wouldn’t be the X-Fender.

And that’s not how we do things.

Today we celebrate the Baltic Sea Day! Itämeripäivä / Baltic Sea Day / Östersjödagen

The Baltic Sea Day, launched and coordinated by the John Nurminen Foundation ( John Nurmisen Säätiö ) is celebrated every year on the last Thursday in August with various rallies and events. The goal of the theme day is to highlight important marine themes, and encourage people to take concrete action for the Baltic Sea.

The Day celebrates the versatility and immeasurable value of the Sea. Moreover, the celebration seeks to disseminate information on marine nature, culture, and history. In 2026 the Baltic Sea Day is celebrated on August 27th. www.balticseaday.fi

There are many NGO initiatives in the Baltic Sea region, such as the Pidä Saaristo Siistinä / Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association ( Pidä Saaristo Siistinä ry ). The health of the Baltic Sea is everyone’s responsibility. Let’s make those efforts count.

The 8/2026 issue features X-Fender in its Pikatesti, and tested our fenders at various scenarios where fenders are actually used.
