Gandia is a brilliant base for cycling, with easy access by bike paths to the beach. Routes in the area include the Vía Verde Oliva & Dénia and other relaxed coastal rides, which makes it ideal for a day on two wheels.

This route, starting in Alcoy and ending in Alcante City, passes through the village of Castalla in Alicante which includes the castle, Sitting atop a hill 780m above sea level built by the Moors in the 11th century.
