bound4blue Purveyors of a suction sail system designed specifically for assisted clean propulsion of vessels! ⛵️

We cannot envision a future in which the dependence on fossil fuels and the emissions of CO2 and other polluting gases are still an issue. That is why we have rolled up our sleeves and have started working on solutions that will drive that dependence out of ship transport and, in the future, of the production of hydrogen and oxygen. For years, we have worked on the design of a rigid wingsail techn

ology applicable to the maritime transport in order to reduce the fuel consumption and the emissions level. Also, we are working on an alternative application of the wingsail technology to design in the future a boat propelled by these wingsails, capable of producing hydrogen and oxygen by means of the electrolysis of seawater in a clean and cost-efficient way.

A first on many levels, and one we won’t forget 💥

We have installed two 24-metre eSAILs® on MV Baltazar at New Yangzi Shipbuilding, the latest vessel in Klaveness Combination Carriers’ CABU III series.

This project marks several important milestones:
✅Our first eSAILs® manufactured locally in China
✅The first-ever 24m Model 3 units
✅The first tanker/dry bulk vessel with wind propulsion

It shows how even highly efficient vessels can go further - using clean, abundant wind power to deliver environmental and commercial benefits 🌬️

A big thank you to Klaveness Combination Carriers and New Yangzi Shipbuilding for their trust and collaboration throughout the project.

🚨 We’ve been holding this one for a few weeks… 🚨

Eastern Pacific Shipping Pte. Ltd. has now completed its second eSAIL® installation, this time on the newbuild MR tanker EPS Pacific Sunstone, at New Times Shipbuilding in China.

And this one is special because the vessel was designed with wind propulsion from the very beginning.

Here’s what stands out:
✔️ First-ever newbuild equipped with eSAILs® for EPS
✔️ Simple, non-ATEX, high-lift technology perfectly suited for tankers
✔️ Builds on proven results from the retrofit on Pacific Sentinel

💬 José Miguel Bermúdez, our CEO and co-founder, said:
“A newbuild such as this is an exciting project, as it allows the vessel to set sail with the benefits of wind power woven into the ship’s DNA from day one. We’d like to thank EPS, and the yard, for their excellent cooperation in a fast, efficient and seamless process.”

🗣️ Mirtcho Spassov, Decarbonisation Manager of EPS, added:
"At EPS, we continue to explore and deploy new technologies that support the decarbonisation of our fleet. Our experience with Pacific Sentinel demonstrated the operational performance and practicality of the eSAIL® system, making the integration of the technology from the outset on Pacific Sunstone a natural step.”

This installation reinforces the scalability, flexibility, and real-world efficiency of eSAILs®, helping tankers reduce fuel consumption, cut emissions, and achieve regulatory compliance from day one.
A big thank you to EPS and the yard for the collaboration.

…And we’re not done yet, more good news coming soon!

26/01/2026

We’ve completed the first eSAIL® installation under our agreement with Maersk Tankers.

Four 24-metre suction sails are now installed on the Maersk Trieste. This is the first of five MR tankers that will sail with our wind propulsion system as part of this rollout.

The installation was carried out in two steps, with vessel preparation completed in China and final installation and commissioning in Belgium. A practical approach that helped minimise downtime and fit smoothly within tanker operations, including ATEX-regulated environments.

For us, this marks an important moment. Not a pilot, and not a one-off, but the start of a rollout designed to bring wind propulsion through our eSAILs® into everyday shipping operations.

Thanks to Maersk Tankers for the trust, and to Njord, Yiu Lian Shipyard, EDR Shipyard, and everyone at bound4blue involved in making this first installation happen.

One vessel already able to harness the power of wind, and four more to follow.

Another installation completed and we just can’t stop sharing the news! 💥

Amasus Eemshaven now operates with the largest eSAIL® ever fitted to a general cargo vessel – a 22-metre unit on Fluvius Tavy, installed at Astander Shipyard in Spain. ⚓🌬️

Following the success of Eems Traveller, this proves wind propulsion is scalable, reliable, and profitable.

Highlights:
✅Largest suction sail ever on a general cargo vessel
✅Second installation after proven performance on Eems Traveller
✅Plug-and-play installation during scheduled maintenance
✅Double-digit fuel and CO₂ reduction potential

As our CEO and co-founder José Miguel Bermúdez said:
💬 "This installation is particularly noteworthy as it is the largest suction sail ever fitted to a general cargo vessel and, following a previous installation on the Eems Traveller, a very clear endorsement of the value Amasus sees in our technology.”

And from Amasus themselves:
🗣️ “The decision to install a second eSAIL® reflects how satisfied we are with the performance and how smoothly it has integrated into our day-to-day operations. Our experience confirms its suitability for short-sea general cargo vessels.”

One of those milestones you don’t forget… 🚀✨

We’re secured US$44M from top maritime and climate-technology investors. This marks a major step forward in accelerating the scale-up of our eSAIL® suction sails - a technology already delivering up to 40% fuel and emissions savings on vessels worldwide.

This new investment boosts our industrial expansion in Europe and Asia, strengthens our R&D pipeline, and supports the rapidly growing number of shipowners choosing wind power as a practical, immediate decarbonisation tool.

Thank you to all our investors, partners and teams for believing in the impact of wind. The momentum continues… and 2025 still has big moments ahead! 💥

🆕 Only days before Marintec kicks off… we couldn’t imagine a better moment to share this news!

We’re expanding our industrial footprint with new outsourced production capabilities and strategic partnerships in China. This is a major milestone that brings our eSAIL® technology even closer to the world’s biggest shipbuilding and retrofit hubs. 🚢

Here’s why this matters:

⚙️ Up to 100 eSAIL® units produced annually starting in 2026
📍 New production facilities near Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta
🤝 Partnerships with leading Chinese manufacturers and logistics experts
🚢 Closer proximity to key shipbuilding centers in China, South Korea and Japan
⏱️ Faster delivery, smoother installations and better service for shipowners across Asia

💬 Our COO, Juan José Arrebola, shares:
“China is central to the future of maritime decarbonisation. By expanding our production network and partnerships here, we’re ensuring that our suction sails can be delivered faster, at greater scale and with the same quality standards that have defined our European operations from day one.”

And importantly: this expansion comes in addition to our growing European capacity.
We’re scaling in both regions to meet rising demand and to strengthen our mission: making wind propulsion a practical, accessible solution for every shipowner worldwide.

And yes… there’s still more exciting news on the way.
This is just the start! 💥

Fresh off the press: validation is stacking up! 💥

Lloyd's Register has validated our methodology to calculate Pwind, the propulsive power from our eSAILs®, in line with International Maritime Organization - IMO guidance.

The first vessel to use it? The M.V. Atlantic Orchard, owned by Wisby Tankers and chartered by Louis Dreyfus Company, equipped with four of our eSAILs®.

What this means:

✅ Verified Pwind for future installations
✅ Streamlined compliance & faster timelines
✅ Stronger business case for wind propulsion

With this validation, our suction sails now carry an additional official seal of approval for compliance and wind rewards - giving shipowners confidence, clarity, and impact.
