Luis and Bernat are now approved to carry out annual inspections of Henriksen LSA rescue hooks in accordance with MSC(402)96 requirements.

These systems sit within critical lifting and recovery operations, where correct inspection, documentation and understanding of the equipment are essential for both compliance and safety.

Another step forward in continuing to expand our in-house inspection and certification capabilities.

Thorough examination and load testing completed on this passerelle in Vilanova.

The system had previously been marked as a deficiency during Flag survey due to missing inspection and testing records, despite the equipment itself being in service.

This is a good reminder that carrying out the work is only part of the process. Proper documentation, certification and traceable records are equally important when it comes to Flag State compliance and survey readiness.

Without records, there is no evidence the inspection has been completed.

Velsheda rig is stepped, and with a very happy captain to boot.

One of the most iconic J Class yachts on the water, and a boat we have been fortunate enough to work with for over a decade. Always a pleasure to be back onboard.

Securing a pin properly, and making sure nothing is dropped in the process, is not just good practice. It is critical. A single lost nut or washer can create a direct safety risk.

Attention to detail is imperative.

Thank you for your accolades, M/Y Bystander. It's been our pleasure:

"We had a great experience working with RSB Rigging Solutions. Their team was professional, efficient, and very knowledgeable throughout the entire process.

The work was carried out to a high standard, with clear communication and attention to detail at every stage. All certification and documentation were provided promptly and to a very high level, which made our survey process straightforward.

I would highly recommend RSB and look forward to working with them again in the future." First Mate, M/Y Bystander

This is a stark reminder to inspect your tender lifting points regularly.

This example is from a Castoldi jet tender with a 1.5t dry weight.

The crack shown here has developed within a composite fibre frame at a lifting point. These areas carry concentrated loads during every launch and recovery, and any weakness will continue to worsen under repeated use.

Issues like this do not appear overnight. They build gradually and are easy to miss until the structure is already compromised.

Left unchecked, this becomes a failure under load.

There is a point here that is worth sitting with.

Not the obvious takeaway, but what sits behind it. The assumption that if a system is still functioning, it is still sound.

Deferred maintenance tends to hide in that gap. Nothing has failed, so nothing feels urgent. But most structural issues do not start with failure, they start with small changes in material condition, load paths or installation that are easy to miss until they are not.

The real question is where confidence is coming from.

Is it based on recent inspection and verified condition, or simply on the fact that the system is still working?

Because those are very different positions to be operating from.

Curious how others are approaching this in practice.

At what point does deferred maintenance shift from acceptable risk to something that needs addressing?

The iconic Tamer II has recently completed a full mast and rigging refit.

At the centre of the project was a full rod rigging replacement, carried out in line with the critical 20-year service milestone to maintain structural integrity and safety.

The mast was fully stripped and refinished, with a new high-gloss coating applied to provide long-term protection in a demanding environment.

The final stage saw the mast stepped back into place in Vilanova, a process that relies on precise alignment and careful control throughout.
Project managed by Franco, with coordination across all phases to bring the scope together cleanly and efficiently.

The first of our new custom tie-rod turnbuckles has arrived from BSI in Denmark.

This has been a collaborative development between RSB and BSI, with a clear focus on long-term reliability under load. Manufactured from high-strength stainless steel, these units are engineered to perform within demanding structural applications while maintaining precise adjustment and alignment.

Alongside the engineering, the finish matters. The high-gloss polish ensures the components sit comfortably within visible areas such as the saloon, where mechanical hardware is part of the overall aesthetic rather than something to be hidden.

Built to carry load. Finished to be seen.
