Having recently played La Cala Asia, it’s a course that really stays with you.
From the first tee, you’re struck by how the layout works its way through the foothills, with the surrounding mountain ranges constantly in view—and very much in play mentally. The elevation changes are a defining feature, making club selection a genuine challenge on almost every hole.
The signature 3rd hole par 3 really emphasises the importance of club selection, playing across a dramatic drop with the mountains framing the green. It’s a brilliant, slightly intimidating hole that perfectly sums up the course.
