Beneteau 473 Oceanis, this was a additional job, as we found a crack in the aft cabin floor when we did the electrical works. Owners un aware so the decision was made we needed to lift the boat and inspect the area before she can leave.
With the owners back home, we took her to the lift for inspections. Lucky for the owners this seems to be previously repaired externally but this crack was not repaired from some incident in her past unknown.
What we did find was that the previous yard did a really bad job (only in June 23) on the prep and antifouling.
•keel paint flaking off
•supports moved with paints still wet causing allot of damage
•paint wet when lifted. Strap marks round whole area into paints.
So, internal non structural area cut out, glass choped matt with epoxy added and glass matt fillers, faired, sanded, flow coat matching to colour best we can, and to complete new hull primer coats, sanding and primer to the keel plus 2 full coats of professional antifouling.
Returning her to the owners tomorrow ready for her departure soon onwards to new destinations.
