From June 11 to 14 (2026) in La Orotava:
The Corpus Christi Festival and the Pilgrimage of San Isidro Labrador in La Orotava have been officially declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest since 1980. Initially, these major festivals obtained the basic title of Tourist Interest in 1965, being reclassified to the national category in the Official State Gazette (BOE) of February 16, 1980.

La Orotava Patron Saint Festivities 2026, commemorating Corpus Christi, Saint Isidore the Farmer, and Saint Mary of the Head.

Key Dates and Main Events:

June 5: Celebration of the La Orotava Magician's Dance. This event changed its traditional date for organizational security reasons due to the visit of Pope Leo XIV to Tenerife.

June 11 (Corpus Christi Thursday): Creation of the famous Corpus Christi carpets with flowers and sand from Mount Teide in the Town Hall Square and the streets of the old town.

June 13 (Saturday): Traditional procession of the saints ("Little Pilgrimage") and the Livestock Show.

First Festivals of the Year in La Orotava of Tourist Interest (January)
La Florida Festival (Saint Anthony Abbot and Our Lady of Hope): Celebrated in the La Florida neighborhood, it has been declared a Festival of Tourist Interest of the Canary Islands. During the festival, residents reenact traditional trades and revive local customs, such as the "Bajada del cisco" (Descent of the Ash).
The La Florida Festival in La Orotava takes place from January 17th to February 1st, 2026.
Main Events
Traditional Stew: The most important gastronomic event of the festival, the preparation and serving of the stew, will take place on Saturday, January 24th, 2026.
Livestock Fair: The 53rd edition of the livestock fair is held on the same Saturday, January 24th, at the fairgrounds.
Pilgrimage: The 42nd pilgrimage in honor of Saint Anthony Abbot and Our Lady of Hope will take place on Sunday, January 25, 2026, departing from the church of La Florida and ending at Los Pinos.
