Stepping back in time to witness the massive transformation of our roads! 🛣️ This fascinating historical photo captures the construction of the A-17 (currently C-33) viaduct in Montcada i Reixac back in the late 1960s, just before its grand opening in November 1969. Right below, you can see the historic N-152 road, which served as a vital connection for travelers long before modern highways reshaped the landscape. A true piece of transport history frozen in time! ⏳✨

🚴‍♂️ History in the making at Balneari Montagut! 🌍✨

There are moments that give you goosebumps, and today was absolutely one of them. Watching the Tour de France peloton fly right past our gates here in Ribes de Freser during Stage 3 (Granollers - Les Angles) was pure magic! 💥💨

But today’s stage wasn’t just about the speed—it was about legacy. The Tour has officially returned to the iconic N-152 road, tracing the exact asphalt where cycling legends rode nearly 60 years ago.

From the peaceful, historic gardens of our Balneari to the roaring energy of the world’s greatest cycling race... what an unforgettable contrast. 🏔️🏨

📸 A journey back in time through Osona
Looking at this photograph is like stepping into another era. ✨ At the beginning of the 20th century, the N-152 road passing through Tona, and standing as a witness to countless stories, travelers, and gatherings: the legendary Fonda Ristol.
In those days, the road wasn't just a way to get from one place to another; it was the very heartbeat of the town. We love remembering our roots, the warmth of our people, and how, generation after generation, we have been a part of Tona's history.

Big changes are happening on the tracks! 🚄✨

For the past few months, major upgrade works have been underway on the R3 line of Rodalies de Catalunya. The big goal? Duplicating the track between La Garriga and Parets del Vallès to make our daily commutes smoother and more reliable. 🛠️🌾

One of the most impressive milestones of this project is taking shape right in Les Franqueses del Vallès. If you've passed by the Els Gorgs area recently, you’ve probably noticed the massive new viaduct built right over the old N-152 road! 🌉👷‍♂️

It’s a massive engineering effort, and while construction always requires a bit of patience, it’s a huge step forward for better, faster, and more sustainable public transport in the region. 🌍💪

What do you think about this new infrastructure? Will it improve your daily commute? 🚄💭

A journey back to the late 1970s. 🗺️🕒

This vintage snapshot captures the crossroads of the N-152 road from Puigcerdà to La Seu d'Urgell in Catalonia, taken somewhere between 1974 and 1979.

Every detail tells a story of a changing era at this Pyrenean junction, long before modern highways took over. 🌲✨

A journey back in time to the late 1960s! 🏗️🛤️

This incredible aerial shot captures the massive transformation of the landscape between Montcada i Reixac and Barcelona. You can clearly see the construction of the highway viaducts and the complex railway network at Montcada Bifurcació, long before the modern Nus de la Trinitat took its current shape.

This was the era when the old N-152 was being bypassed by the new "Autopista del Norte," forever changing how we enter and exit the city. A true testament to the industrial and urban growth that defined a generation.

Does anyone remember driving through here when the viaducts were still under construction? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Orís Tunnel, 1968: A passage frozen in time. 🏔️📜
This photograph captures the rugged beauty of the N-152 highway in its prime. Located exactly 85km between Barcelona and Puigcerdà, this stone-carved tunnel was once a vital artery for travelers crossing Osona.
Today, this iconic entrance is permanently walled up, leaving this image as a silent witness to a bygone era of Catalan road history. 🚲🧱

Barcelona Retro: The Gateway to the North (1989)
Take a trip back to 1989, just three years before the Olympic Games transformed Barcelona forever. This snapshot shows the Avinguda Meridiana, the city's great northern artery, buzzing with the raw energy of the late 80s.
The Birth of the N-152
What makes this image particularly iconic for road enthusiasts and locals alike is the prominent road marking for the N-152.
While today we navigate via complex tunnel systems and modern highways like the C-17, this was the official starting point of the National Route 152. From this very asphalt in the heart of the city, the road stretched out toward Vic, Ripoll, and all the way to the French border at Puigcerdà. A Glimpse of the Past
The Fleet: Check out the classic SEATs and old-school delivery trucks hauling crates—a far cry from today's electric hybrids.
The Aesthetic: Notice the vintage street signs and the massive hand-painted murals/billboards on the buildings to the right.
The Transition: In 1989, the Meridiana was a pure "urban highway," a dense concrete river connecting the Mediterranean to the Pyrenees.
Before the "Barcelona Model" of urban renewal fully took hold, this was the city in its gritty, functional, and authentic glory.
