The Sant Joan festival is on June 23, but we can get a head start by sampling the best cocas in the country, which are now official: the 2026 Coques de Sant Joan contest has already taken place (and we were on the judging panel), and several of the winners are from Barcelona. The iconic Pastisseria Hofmann (Carrer dels Flassaders, 44, Barcelona) took first place in the Creative Coca category. Likewise, Pastisseria Faixat (Carrer de Muntaner, 159-161, Barcelona) achieved an outstanding second place in the Coca de Llardons category, while Arenas Molins (Carrer de Berlín, 24, Barcelona) took second prize in the Coca de Crema i Pinyons category.
