Esta fascinante planta (Monotropa uniflora) es definitivamente una de las extrañas maravillas de la naturaleza. Debido a que no tiene clorofila y no depende de la fotosíntesis, esta planta blanca fantasmal puede crecer en los bosques más oscuros. Mucha gente se refiere a esta extraña planta como hongo de la p**a de la India, pero no es un hongo en absoluto, simplemente se parece a uno. En realidad, es una planta con flores, y lo crea o no, es un miembro de la familia de los arándanos.
