Dynamic Positioning systems on Super yachts

Dynamic Positioning is a system that allows a vessel to be controlled by joystick or held in position against wind and tide, by a computerised controller. There are several levels, from DP0, which does not include redundancy in the system, to DP3 where there is multiple redundancy in case of system failure. DP3 is required for vessels and systems operating in critical safety situations, such as in the oil and gas sector.

Stamping In / Out

When joining or leaving a yacht outside the Schengen zone, you need to stamp in/out to pause your 90 day visa allowance. Here’s what you need to know:

When to Stamp:
🔹Leaving the Yacht: Stamp OUT (to pause your visa)
🔹Joining the Yacht: Stamp IN (resume your visa days left)
🔹Failure to do this can result in overstaying your visa and lead to a 5-year ban from entering the EU.

Key Locations for Stamping:
🔸Monaco: Menton Immigration (accompanied by an agent)
🔸Nice: Port de Nice, Douanes (Mon-Fri 09:30-10:30)
🔸Cannes: Port de Cannes, Douanes (Mon-Fri 10:00-12:00, off-season 09:00-10:00)
🔸Corsica: Bonifacio Police Office
🔸Palma: Policia Nacional, Club de Mar (Mon-Fri 08:00-14:00)
