One of the best ways to get to Barcelona city centre from the airport is the Barcelona airport train. It's cheap, fast and convenient, especially if you're

Marc is a colourful bronze sculpture near Port Olímpic that was created by Catalan artist Robert Llimós in 1997.

The brightly coloured figure is intended to represent cultural diversity and encourages viewers to look at Barcelona through the frame from different perspectives.

It is displayed in the Plaça dels Voluntaris Olímpics, and is both a tribute to the volunteers who helped make the 1992 Olympic Games a success, and a personal memorial to the artist's son, Marc, who died in 1995.

Your Perfect Barcelona itinerary!

It's hard to plan what to do in Barcelona if you only have a couple of days. So, I've put together this 2 day itinerary using all my years of experience enjoying Barcelona as a local and a visitor.

Although there are so many things to do in Barcelona it’s impossible to see everything, I’ve tried to narrow it down so you can get the most out of just 2 days in Barcelona, including some of the top attractions and my favourite places to eat and drink, all packed into two days.

I hope you enjoy Barcelona as much as I do – and this itinerary will certainly help you do that!

For my 2 day Barcelona itinerary, I’ve assumed that you will be spending a weekend in Barcelona and planned the activities accordingly. However, if you come

Pals is one of the best-preserved medieval villages in Catalonia.

Perched on a hilltop in the heart of the Costa Brava, it's a lovely town to explore, with cobbled streets and beautiful architecture.

I took a day tour to visit, which also stopped at Girona and Besalu - it was a long day but an easy way to pack a lot in if you don't have a car!

Antoni Gaudi died on June 10, 1926, aged 73. He is buried in the crypt of the Sagrada Familia.

He never got to see his magnificent basilica completed - he would have had to wait a long time of course, it still isn't finished! But today, the Pope is here in Barcelona to commemorate Gaudi's death, and unveil the completed central Tower of Jesus Christ.

If you're planning to visit the Sagrada Familia, don't forget to book your tickets online in advance, they do sell out (sometimes weeks before), and you can't buy them at the gate anymore!

Bellesguard, also known as Casa Figueres, is one of Gaudí's lesser known designs that combines medieval and modernist influences. It looks more like a castle than a modern home!

Built on the slopes of the Tibidabo mountain in Barcelona, on the site of a medieval castle, Bellesguard was completed in 1909 and was a private residence for the Figueras family. It is currently owned by the Guilera family, who still live in part of the house.

One of the most striking features of Bellesguard is its distinctive tower, which rises above the surrounding landscape, with panoramic views of Barcelona and the Mediterranean Sea.

Go up onto the rooftop, and you'll see it is built in the shape of a dragon’s head with eyes as windows staring at you.
