Sailing with family is an adventure! We just spent 10 days with Rocky’s parents on Norwegian Joy. We had so much fun last year that we went back for round two!

Lots of smiles, entertainment, great food, wine tastings, and Alaskan sites.

Norwegian Joy Crew Selfies: We don’t just take selfies with fellow passengers; the crew get in on the fun, too! It’s always amazing to sail with crew members we’ve met before, like Mario, Bernard, and Ni Luh. Plus, we get to meet new crew members along the way that we hope to see again.

As we always say, it’s a small cruise world out there! If you see any of these faces on your upcoming cruise, be sure to tell them Mark and Rocky say hello!

And to all of the crew we recognize in our post-crew survey - even if we didn’t get a selfie! - thank you for making our vacation special. We 💙 you!

The Alaska Raptor Center in Sitka, Alaska will always hold a special spot in my (Mark’s) heart.

My dad loved bald eagles. Back in Upper Michigan, spotting one was never just “seeing a bird” to him. He’d come home excited, telling us where he saw it and how many he spotted. Sometimes, we’d even pull off to the side of the road to watch them in the trees around Lake Superior.

Standing there today, getting to see those bald eagles up close, I couldn’t help but think of how much he would have absolutely loved the experience.

Thank you to for all you do to care for and rehabilitate these amazing birds. Definitely recommend visiting them if you are stopping in Sitka on your cruise!

“On Eagle’s Wings” feels especially fitting today. 🦅

Due to travel delays thanks to some thunderstorms in the Jacksonville area, Sail Talk Saturday has been postponed to a day later this week.

They say it’s the crew that makes the cruise, and I agree! Thank you so much to the amazing crew onboard the Carnival Elation. I loved running into the many individuals multiple times across the ship, whether it was for a cup of coffee, or a Q&A on stage, the ship was small, easy to navigate, and all around friendly. It was wonderful seeing so many familiar faces around the ship.

Sail safe, Carnival Elation, and take care of the amazing crew onboard!
