This is a virtual tour of the 18th dynasty Tomb of Menna located in the Theban Necropolis on the west bank of Luxor. Menna wasn't a Pharaoh but a member of the elite class - a scribe and an overseer of fields of the pharaoh.

His tomb has been popular among tourists for centuries due to its well-preserved and colourful paintings.

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in cooperation with the American Research Institute in Cairo, are launching virtual visits of archaeological sites and museums to share with the world while we all stay home.

After 14 years of restoration, Djoser's Step Pyramid, which is the oldest monumental stone building in the world and the oldest pyramid in Egypt (c2667 - 2648 BC), was reopened yesterday.
