Arkas Line is proud to announce the first-ever call by a container vessel at , with the arrival of Saskia A.

This historic call represents a significant milestone for Egypt’s maritime sector and further strengthens Arkas Egypt’s presence across the country’s strategic maritime gateways. We are honoured to be the first shipping line to utilise this important new gateway and contribute to the beginning of a new chapter in Safaga Port’s development. We extend our sincere appreciation to H.E. Kamel Al Wazir, Minister of Transport, for his exemplary support in facilitating this historic call. We also thank the Ports Security Sector of the Egyptian Ministry of Interior, the General Authority for Red Sea Ports, The Egyptian Customs Authority and AD Ports Group for their valuable cooperation and support in making this milestone possible.

As Egypt continues to develop its port infrastructure, Safaga is emerging as an increasingly important gateway for regional and international supply chains. The successful handling of this landmark call reflects the expertise of the Arkas Egypt Operations Team, which provided comprehensive port agency services and coordinated every aspect of the vessel’s call with precision and operational efficiency.

أستقبلت هيئة ميناء سفاجا أول سفينة حاويات في تاريخ الميناء، وذلك مع وصول السفينة Saskia A التابعة للخط الملاحي Arkas Line، في خطوة تُعد نقطة تحول مهمة ضمن جهود تطوير الموانئ المصرية وتعزيز حركة التجارة عبر البحر الأحمر.

ويُعد دخول Arkas Line إلى ميناء سفاجا أول تشغيل لخط ملاحي للحاويات بالميناء، بما يفتح آفاقًا جديدة أمام حركة النقل البحري ويعزز مكانة سفاجا كبوابة لوجستية واعدة لخدمة التجارة الإقليمية والدولية، في ظل التطوير المستمر الذي تشهده منظومة الموانئ المصرية.

وأكدت شركة أركاس إيجيبت أن هذا الإنجاز يعكس التوسع المستمر لعمليات الشركة في الموانئ الاستراتيجية بمصر، معربة عن خالص تقديرها لمعالي الفريق كامل الوزير، وزير النقل، لدعمه في إنجاح هذا الحدث التاريخي، كما توجهت بالشكر إلى الهيئة العامة لموانئ البحر الأحمر، قطاع أمن المواني بوزارة الداخلية، ومصلحة الجمارك المصرية، و شركة نواتوم( مجموعة موانئ أبو ظبي )، على تعاونهم وجهودهم الكبيرة التي أسهمت في استقبال أول سفينة حاويات بالميناء

وشهدت الرحلة الأولى تقديم أركاس إيجيبت خدمات الوكالة الملاحية الكاملة للسفينة، حيث تولى فريق العمليات إدارة وتنسيق جميع إجراءات دخول السفينة وتراكيها ومغادرتها، بما يضمن تنفيذ العمليات بكفاءة عالية.

ويأتي هذا الحدث في إطار الرؤية الرامية إلى تعزيز دور ميناء سفاجا كمركز بحري رئيسي على البحر الأحمر، واستقطاب المزيد من الخطوط الملاحية العالمية، بما يسهم في دعم سلاسل الإمداد وزيادة تنافسية الموانئ المصرية على المستويين الإقليمي والدولي.

An Arkas Line vessel, MATILDE A passing through Port Said reflects the strategic importance of one of Egypt’s most vital maritime gateways.

Located at the northern entrance of the Suez Canal, Port Said connects major East–West trade routes, linking Europe, the Mediterranean, Asia, and global markets. With around 12% of global trade and nearly 30% of global container traffic passing through the Suez Canal each year, the port plays a key role in international shipping.
