Why is Donington Park tougher on Superbike brakes than Phillip Island, despite having fewer corners?
The secret lies in the spacing. If braking zones are far apart, the discs have time to cool down in the wind. But at Donington, the gap between the Fogarty Esses and the Melbourne Hairpin is tiny. The brakes go from 'scalding hot' to... well, even hotter!
In this dance between speed and heat, only the best systems avoid fading. It’s all about heat management.
