RIVER CRUISING!
I partner with only the BEST in river cruising and since June, our team has navigated itinerary changes for our clients due to historically low water levels on the Rhine and Danube rivers in Europe.
River Cruising is one of the best ways to explore Europe; unpack once and experience Europe in a more intimate and unique way.
You want someone who knows the ins and outs on your side!
1. When water levels are too low (or too high) the cruise lines may alter the itinerary or even cancel the cruise and when that happens you have options! But these options will still involve canceling and rebooking and filing insurance claims. If you book with me, I will walk you through this, advocate for you, and provide the information you need to make the best decision for you.
2. Travel insurance. Do not sail without it. If you don’t need it, great! If you do, you will be so glad you have it. Weather is unpredictable and most travelers book river cruises about a year or more in advance. Get the insurance and ask your travel advisor for insurance options specifically for river cruising.
3. Your travel advisor (me!) knows the lingo, the people to call, the documents to prepare, and the options available for you. If you book on your own, that’s a lot to manage. For every itinerary change or cancelation, I often clock multiple hours on multiple days to process the changes and cancelations. I build that into my work day, if you have to do that, it’s extra time in your schedule and will probably take you a lot longer than it takes me; I deal with it often and I know what to do!
BOTTOM LINE: book with a travel advisor who knows river cruising and who is experienced enough to know what to do and who to call to advocate for you!
