When a primary cold storage system fails, there's no time to wait for a solution.

A major British biopharmaceutical company operating across 11 UK sites needed backup cold storage ready at a moment's notice, on site, for therapies that cannot afford a break in the cold chain.

TITAN supplied two 40ft ArcticStore Tropical units, installed directly alongside the customer's existing facility. Working closely with the customer's facilities and security teams, the units were in place within 18 days of the initial enquiry.

The result: always on backup storage, reliable temperature controlled conditions, 24/7 remote monitoring through SmartArctic technology, and no permanent construction required.

Cold chain continuity isn't just about capacity. It's about protection when the unexpected happens.

The summer has been busy.

While most people were enjoying the season, our team was working hard, including sending an ArcticStore to one of the hottest places on earth.

Chery Automobile needed to test electric vehicle battery performance under both extreme heat and extreme cold. At the same location and at the same time.

Natural outdoor temperatures in Turpan reached +75°C under direct sunlight. Inside our 20ft ArcticStore, the temperature was held at -40°C.

No permanent infrastructure. No laboratory. Just a container delivered directly to the test site, operational on the same day, running 24/7 for five days.

The full testing and commercial filming programme, completed on time, on location, in the middle of the desert.

Meet our new co-CEO Lukas Bengtsson

Before joining TITAN, Lukas worked at DSV, a company of more than 150,000 people.

"I was looking forward to challenging myself with something different. A new setting, a new industry, and the opportunity to really get under the skin of the business."

What he found at TITAN surprised him.

"What has impressed me most is the ambition and the drive. The industry has been through a tough period, and TITANs around the world just keep pushing, without losing the family feel and the teamwork. That combination is rare. It is either there or it isn't."

His proudest moment so far? Launching the ArcticStore Horizon, which we believe is the world's most environmentally friendly portable cold room, reducing energy consumption by an average of 55% thanks to vacuum insulation panels and solar panels, while bringing its Global Warming Potential down from 2,140 to just 0.5.

"Being a market leader doesn't mean standing still. It means pushing forward, innovating continuously, and setting new standards for the products we bring to market."

Outside of work, Lukas plays tennis. After a long break from the game he picked it up again and his oldest son picked it up too. Their training sessions together have become his favourite part of the week.

"I am not a great player, but I love it."

In five years, he wants TITAN to be known for one thing: trust. The ambition is simple: grow TITAN, keep setting the standard for storage solutions worldwide, and be the partner our customers can always rely on.

Welcome to the next chapter, Lukas!

Meet our new co-CEO Joseph (Joe) Plampin

Joe started his career as a Saturday boy in a shop. Last week he became Co-CEO of TITAN Containers.

"Having spent my previous career in retailing, it was a completely new industry for me to start with. Some skills were immediately transferable, and some had to be learned from scratch. Both challenging and enjoyable."

He joined TITAN as part of the UK sales team and worked his way up through every level of the business before reaching Co-CEO.

His proudest moment is not about a product or a milestone. It is about people.

"I took on the management of a market that had been struggling. When I look at the same market now, it is flourishing and highly successful. This makes me enormously proud of the team and the hard work they have put in."

Outside of work, Joe goes fishing. Sea, rivers and lakes.

"It centres and focuses my mind. The peace and solitude helps me reflect on important things. Until I get a bite anyway."

In five years, he wants TITAN to be known for one thing: excellent and unparalleled customer service.

Welcome to the next chapter, Joe!

When it comes to cold storage, certifications are not just badges on a wall.

They are proof that the unit you are trusting with your products meets the highest international standards for safety, quality and performance.

Here is what our certifications mean for you:

ISO 9001 — Effective processes and trained staff to deliver consistent, high quality service every time.

ISO 14001 — A robust system in place to improve our environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste.

CE — Every ArcticStore has been assessed and deemed to meet EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements.

GDP — Our cold storage containers are tested and certified to meet Good Distribution Practice requirements for the pharmaceutical supply chain.

HACCP — Our units support the temperature monitoring, datalogging and cleanliness requirements needed for food safety compliance.

Because when product integrity is non-negotiable, the credentials of your cold storage provider should be too.

The way businesses think about storage is changing.

For decades, the default assumption was simple. If you need storage, you build it or buy it. You commit to the infrastructure, the cost and the maintenance and you make it work for as long as possible.

Now, that model is being challenged. Storage as a Service is emerging as a fundamentally different approach. Instead of owning or leasing fixed infrastructure, businesses access storage capacity on demand. Scaling up when they need it, scaling back when they do not. No capital investment, no long-term commitment, no stranded assets when demand shifts.

Supply chains are less predictable than they were. Contract durations are shorter. Demand patterns are harder to forecast. Businesses need infrastructure that moves with them rather than locking them in.

At TITAN, this is the model we have been building towards for years. Modular, flexible, deployable anywhere in the world. Ready when you need it. Gone when you do not.

Two years ago, CitiPost needed cold storage fast.

A new contract with a fast-growing quick-commerce operator meant immediate demand for temperature-controlled capacity. No time for construction. No room for long-term commitment.

They chose a modular ArcticStore solution from TITAN Containers. Two years later they are not just renewing, they are expanding. That is what flexible cold storage infrastructure makes possible.

Summer is the most unpredictable season in food retail.

Ice cream flies off the shelves during a heatwave. Chilled drinks sell out before the next delivery arrives. A sudden bank holiday weekend doubles demand overnight.

For supermarkets, grocery chains and convenience stores, the challenge is not just keeping products cold. It is having enough cold storage capacity at exactly the right moment.

Permanent infrastructure cannot flex fast enough. Building additional cold rooms takes months and significant capital investment. By the time it is ready, the moment has passed.

Modular cold storage can be on site within days. No construction, no planning permission, no long-term commitment. When demand drops, it leaves just as quickly.

If your cold storage capacity is already feeling the pressure, now is the time to plan for it.

They start with how the container is loaded.
