After nearly four decades with Blue Water, Ronald Hansen today steps into retirement.

For 38 years, Ronald has been a familiar face at our office in Odense - known to colleagues, customers and partners alike for his approach to work and relationships.

Today, colleagues past and present, customers and family came together to celebrate a remarkable career.

In his own words, Ronald summed up what has guided him throughout the years.

"I've always aimed to treat customers and colleagues the same way I want to be treated: keeping my word, being respectful and humble and always aiming to be a decent human being. Because I believe that when relations become trust, then trust becomes the beginning of business."

Looking ahead, Ronald is ready for a new chapter.

"I look forward to spending more time with my friends, my family and my grandchildren - being the grandfather who says 'yes' when their parents say 'no'. And I'd be surprised if I didn't also spend more time on the golf course."

Today, we are proud to mark 2 years with no LTI among our own personnel in Esbjerg.

At the terminal, the milestone was celebrated together with our colleagues, where our CEO Thomas Bek addressed the team and thanked everyone for their dedication to keeping safety at the centre of our operations every single day.

In Port Services, Dare2Care is part of the way we work. Building and maintaining a strong safety culture takes commitment and teamwork across every operation.

Over the past two years, our own operational personnel in Esbjerg have completed 259,000 working hours across terminal, multiterminal and stevedoring operations. During that time, the teams have handled more than 20,000 components and 40,000 containers, while servicing 1,900 vessels with stevedoring and 1,300 vessels with agency services.

A huge thank you to everyone in Esbjerg for your commitment and dedication. This achievement belongs to all of you.

Today, we are celebrating our valued colleagues marking 25 years with Blue Water by welcoming them to our headquarters in Esbjerg.

At Blue Water, we believe that trust is built through long-lasting relationships. With our people as our most important asset, we value the commitment it takes to stay with one company for more than a quarter of a century.

Our jubilarians have spent the day reconnecting with where our story began in 1972 - touring the Esbjerg harbour, visiting Blåvand Fyr, from which our name originates, and of course gathering for an informal reception with all HQ colleagues and a celebratory dinner.

Mireia Mulet, who joined Blue Water back in 2000 and today works as a Forwarding Agent within Import Sea at our Barcelona office, reflects on her journey with Blue Water:

"I've grown up with Blue Water. During these years, I found my husband and became a mother. I believe I've stayed with Blue Water because I've been given the opportunity to develop: as an employee, as a person and as a woman. I feel part of a big, global family.

During my time here, I've seen our Barcelona office grow from a small, local set-up into a fully integrated part of a truly global company. Many people have come and gone, and with the experience I've gained, I'm proud to pass on my knowledge to a new and ambitious generation, while continuing to be part of Blue Water's growth."

Our Sustainability Statement 2025 is now live

It outlines how we work with ESG across our organisation and value chain. In 2025, we strengthened our CSRD-aligned reporting and had our climate targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative – an important milestone in our transition towards becoming a more responsible partner.

At the same time, our focus goes beyond climate, covering health and safety, ethical business conduct, data protection and governance across our global operations.

“We remain committed to transparency and accountability, and to demonstrating how ESG is embedded in our way of working. This sustainability statement provides insight into the actions we have taken and the progress we are making,” says Blue Water’s CEO Thomas Bek.

The colour of service is Blue - and red, yellow, green, orange and striped!

That's because today, we're joining Denmark's annual - a nationwide initiative where we put on our favourite football jerseys to raise awareness and support children with cancer and their families.

Colleagues all over Denmark are showing their colours to highlight the important work carried out by Børnecancerfonden, the Danish Childhood Cancer Foundation, together with Danske Spil.

At Blue Water, we play as a team - regardless of shirt colour - and we play to win! We are proud to contribute to this day by matching the total donations made by our employees.

Blue Water Greenland has entered into an agreement with Diskoline and Hotel Qaqortoq to provide airport transfers in connection with the opening of the new Qaqortoq Airport on 16 April 2026.

From day one, travellers will have reliable and coordinated transport between the airport, Hotel Qaqortoq and the harbour - making arrival and onward journeys smooth and straightforward.

The opening of the airport marks an important milestone for South Greenland. We are proud to support the increased activity it will bring, helping connect local communities, businesses and visitors through safe and dependable transport solutions.

Thank you to Diskoline and Hotel Qaqortoq for the trust and collaboration. We look forward to working closely together as we prepare for the upcoming season.

As the year comes to a close, we would like to say thank you for the cooperation over the past year.

Together with our customers, partners and suppliers, we have continued to create logistics solutions across industries and regions. From energy transition projects and complex project logistics to re**er cargo and marine logistics. These solutions have always been built on close collaboration, local expertise and a strong global network.

This year also marked an important step for Blue Water. We launched our new company strategy, building on a strong foundation and sharpening our focus on regional set-ups and even more customer-centric solutions. We also welcomed a new CEO, Thomas Bek, a familiar face at Blue Water, who joined the company in 1996 as a freight forwarding trainee and has been part of the company ever since.

2025 has been a special year. We appreciate the trust you place in us and look forward to creating even more solutions together in the year ahead.
