Posting on TikTok is one thing. Knowing what to do with all the data around it, is another.

TikTok actually gives artists a bunch of useful tools to find content ideas, spot trends, understand what’s working and see what’s happening with their music.

You just need to know where to look.

1. Check your access
Spotify is currently testing direct music video uploads through Spotify for Artists. The feature is still in beta, which means it isn’t available to every artist yet.

2. Choose your video type
Spotify currently supports official music videos, performance videos and cover videos. Make sure your video meets Spotify’s eligibility and technical requirements.

3. Head to Spotify for Artists
If direct upload is available for your account, go to Music → Videos and start your upload.

4. Add the details
Select the track connected to your video, choose the video type and add the required information.

5. Submit your video
Once everything looks right, send it in for review. Spotify checks uploaded videos before they can go live.

6. Don’t forget the pitch
Eligible videos can also be pitched to Spotify’s editorial team. If you want your video considered for editorial video playlists, don’t just upload it and leave it there.

One important note: Direct upload is still in beta, so don’t panic if you don’t see the option in your Spotify for Artists account yet.
